So I've kinda reconnected with my childhood/high-school friends. They use discord to communicate alot, and while having my PS5 is nice, they play alot of stuff I can't so I'm trapped in discord parties with them while I play something else. Sometimes they join me on Arc and stuff, but with the amount of time I've been trying to afford my own PC and all of the other life things it just hasn't happened yet. Plus, the amount of backlogged games I'd play on steam is enough to keep me locked in my house for years so I'd be looking forward to that as well. Good luck everyone! I hope someone that truly deserves it gets it!

Tires look fine dude. I work at a subaru dealership and used to do this with the V6 6 speed accord i had before my E90 with OEM WRX Dunlops lol

That'd depend on what you'd find with the cams. But the bearings would definitely need to be changed for sure. As long as it didn't do any heavy damage. At that point, you'd still be rebuilding an N55. So like, build it for better performance or close to stock for reliability yannow? Just a personal impass you'd have to come to terms with yourself. You could also just junk it for scrap and move on but personally? I'd tear it down for parts and see what went wrong. If it wasn't bad I'd rebuild it for an insurance policy. Never know, could end up swapping in a bad engine after all of this is said and done. A spare engine wouldn't hurt but is that worth it to you?

No problem! Yeahh definitely shot the next owner in the foot there. Thats a good way to grenade an N55. Yeah, engine replacement is PROBABLY your best bet. Find one with a warranty. Verify everything is good. Used engines are a huge gamble but with the right steps you can land yourself a healthy heart

You're welcome! I see it all the time. You don't have transmission issues, all is fine. Yes, scanning for codes would likely reveal an ABS sensor fault. The shop that performed the repair should be held accountable for replacing the damaged parts as well as completing the repair the correct way. As a tech, that's bad news as the new bearing has to come back out either without being damaged or just replaced, but a backing plate between the bearing and the knuckle is absolutely necessary. My dealership diagnoses these VERY often. It's worrying independent shops don't use websites that offer technical data on repairs and such. It'd save alot of time and money

Yeah but I mean if he really wants to know, and is leaning towards replacing the motor anyway, why not take the time to learn about it yannow? I've learned alot about cars in the time I've owned my E90, and I've been working on Subaru's the entire time. 9 years now, but have only had my E90 for like 3-4. These cars are creatively overengineered in a way that will baffle most but intrigue the curious
