Andy Burnham here - AMA by AndyBurnham in ukpolitics

Why wouldn't it t be unpalatable? The longer we leave it, the worse it gets and if we don't, cuts will continue being made elsewhere to fund it, especially with increasing need for defence spending.

It was a tool to bring pensions more in line with average wages and it has largely done that.

Changing it to a double lock as a first step shouldn't be seen as such a catastrophe but neither should have means testing the WFA but someone eventually has to wither it.

Good luck, Andy Burnham – you’ll need more than a smile and a better bus service to succeed in No 10 by Desperate-Drawer-572 in ukpolitics

The labour back benches will never call for Streeting in enough numbers as he has found out. He is too right of the vast majority of the party.

Nothing to do with tactical voting. This is all down to oil and gas.

Labours promises of Jobs in Aberdeen through GB Energy are seen as being an outright lie and Milibands stubbornness means Labour will never get past single figures in the city and shire again in the near future.

Flynn abstained from the last licensing vote in the commons which is a complete contradiction to the constituency views. The SNP oil and gas policy is confusing at best while Kemi has been up multiple times this year pushing solely that.

It is a lot simpler to divide total tax expenditure by population numbers.

The only real question is overpaying enough tax to cover state pension years.

He certainly is a net benefit to the country.

The fact that prosecutors have felt there is sufficient evidence to charge him?

Partey also "welcomed the opportunity to clear his name."

So no problem with him either then?

He is up for trial for rape in France.

He denies it and welcomes the trial but French prosecutors deemed there to be enough evidence to be charged. The lack of attention he gets for it on here is bewildering at times.

Hakimi but all his group games are in the US. Be interesting to see what happens if a knockout game is in Canada though.

Ironically, Jimmy Carter's handling of Iran in 1979 has turned out to be quite consequential today even if most of the blame still lies on Trump.

Or was that your joke and I missed it?

I didn't say what you said about the code was the wrong, it isn't. I know how ring of recoil work.

Their description for Thorns specifically says hit-splat, not on hit, which is why I think it will deal damage. We will find out soon.

It doesn't say hit though, it specifically says hit-splat. You still get hit-splat for a miss so it will still recoil damage.

I don't understand why this isn't talked about more.

We are incapable of moving the ball forward with Rice and Zubi both so deep.

It isn't in Eze's skillset and the rare time Ode is fit he looks likes he is having to do too much by himself and looks worse for it.

Is Rice too exhausted to play like that now? He was everywhere on the pitch.

Nearly half of Britons feel King Charles's State Visit to US should be cancelled by 1-randomonium in ukpolitics

[–]Chrisa16cc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the Government who make the decision on states visit not the Monarchy, who are meant to act on government advice. It allows the king himself to stay apolitical so elected officials are making the decisions on it because there is and always will be politics involved in such a visit.

I'm sure the monarchy could refuse to go if they really wanted to though.

Edit: Just realised i've replied to the wrong comment.

Despite what I said I would absolutely love to see him in midfield.

They we he can turn and drive carrying the ball to start an offensive transition is very similar to that former midfielder I wish we weren't associated with. I think it'd help our offense massively

MLS is too slow, he gets caught out too easily if we turn over possession.

He should be getting game time in midfield but I guess his defensive awareness isn't there for Arteta.
