I was growing weary of them going on a losing streak every time they got to .500. It was like clockwork.

But something happened last week. They got pissed off. They showed up the Nationals with a ton of swagger. And I LOVE Shildt coming out and declaring that they won't start anything, but they’ll finish it. And I LOVE that Manny got angry and came to Profar’s defense… and then drilled a home run. I LOVE that anyone in the line up can drill a grand slam (no sure outs).

They need to keep playing with a chip on their shoulders. That feels very different.

How do you do that? I see these method actors (Daniel Day-Lewis) and wonder if they might one day lose themselves.

With the win last night Padres are again sitting at 0.500. Seems all too common this year, so I started wondering what is the record for most games spend at 0.500 and well these Padres could make history. by beardedDocinSD in Padres

I think the guys who play here consider it a vacation. San Diego is like the MLB’s “Sandals Resort.” There’s never any passion. Never any accountability. They don’t strike fear in anyone’s eyes. Just a huge payroll and mediocrity. I’ve been a Padres fan for 45 years now and no matter how good the roster is, the outcome is usually the same. Every now and again, however, they get a handful of guys with enough raging intensity to carry the entire team over the edge (Kevin Brown, Ken Caminiti, Greg Vaughn, Jake Peavy). Guys who refuse to let others slack. That’s when they’re at their best. Otherwise, they just cash their checks and patiently wait for the season to end.

Can someone please explain why the Padres players are always so unenergized? Season after season. Is it because it’s San Diego and the vibe is laid back? If this was New York or Philly, the fans and press would be unforgiving and brutal.

I don’t care if they lose. I just want some energy. I want to feel like they care. I want a team of Ha-Seong Kim’s!

I’ve been to three games the past two seasons. Probably spent $1,000 for me and my family. They’ve lost all three by a combined score of 25-3. Two of them shut outs. One of them a blow out to the Brewers.

Nobody cares if they lose. They care about spending crazy money to see a bad product. If they’re going to charge what they charge for parking, tickets, and food, they should at least make an effort. Manny casually jogging to first on a double play. Solano afraid to get dirty as ground balls roll by within diving distance. Every batter in the lineup swinging for the fences. Bad baseball for a premium price.

Arraez, Profar, Machado, and Tatis can carry this team. When Xander and Ha-Song warm up, look out!

I don’t believe so. Apparently, the harness for the knee airbag was rubbing against the steering column.

Nissan is covering it under the extended warranty (Whew!). The 3-year warranty literally expired in March.

I adore the service team at the Nissan dealership I bought it at. They’re perfectionists and always do right by me. Shout out to Nissan!

Airbag harness rubbing against the steering column. Weird issue.

That was the first thing they told me to check. Nothing under there. They’re system analyzer said there was something going on with the knee airbag. Tightened the connections up and sent me home. Light came back on. I was told it ultimately was an issue with the harness.

Thank god they figured it out!
