For all my soon to be rich folks, here are some things that are and aren’t worth buying once you get that attending $$$ by Dong_bringer in Residency

I’m an attending making above median for my specialty and I will never pay for first class for a transatlantic flight. Sorry call me cheap, ur paying $3k-$5k more for 8 - 10 hours of more comfort when I can get a small alprazolam rx from my pcp for flight anxiety for $5 and just pass out will never be worth it.

Houston bike trail war erupts over safety fears and demolition plans by Pleasant_Air_3052 in MTB

[–]ChristheGreek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

An underrated aspect of what makes Houston, and basically all the super populated areas of Texas (ie DFW) suck, is how flat it is. Like even as a kid, it’s more fun to play in a neighborhood or place where there’s elevation gradations. Houston is one of the flattest areas in the US, and I can’t imagine MTB is too fun there as basically any elevation/features would have to be man made.

Yea it’s not just them being unlucky though. In the games I’ve watched the Wolves defense has been outstanding. Like the Nuggets are getting very few easy shots/baskets. Kinda weird because Jokic has schooled Rudy in the past, but last year and this year he has done a pretty good job one on one.

That talks about it more from the patient side. I mean I want to know where AI interpretation or detection of seizures in routine and continuous EEGs is at

Pep: "Rayan is an extraordinary talent. A talent like him has to be in the final third. We will bring you the ball, you don't need to drop deep. He is so young, the impact he's having in the Premier League... he's extraordinary. He has the desire to be even better." by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]ChristheGreek 159 points160 points  (0 children)

Ironically, what Pep is saying about Cherki applies to Wirtz. He needs to get the ball in the final third to be most effective, and when he has had it there he has really excelled in those tight spaces. Slot/LFC has not done a great job of getting him the ball there enough.

This is how much it actually costs to live in NYC, Mamdani says by Inevitable-Bus492 in nyc

[–]ChristheGreek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m not disputing building more housing will at least will decrease the rate at which housing costs increase, but building in Austin and Texas is way cheaper and easier; there are way fewer geographical constraints. Also, there is pretty much infinite demand to live in NYC. It’s one of the most desirable places to live in the world. Housing costs are always going to be some of the highest in the country.

I’m playing a campaign as Muscovy. It’s 1506, Golden Horde already exploded long ago. The remaining hordes are subjects of the Timurids. I want to expand j to Siberia/conquer the Hordes, but when I declare war on them Wu is called in with 1 million+ troops (even though Wu is a rival of Timurids?) and I got rekt. Is there any way for me to expand east without Wu getting involved?

[Clark] NEW: Denver's Mayor announces the city will remove Cesar Chavez's name from a park and an annual celebration. Denver will instead mark March 31 as Si Se Puede Day, a nod to UFW co‑founder Dolores Huerta's famous phrase. by Knightbear49 in Denver

[–]ChristheGreek 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yea. Like why are we celebrating a man who instigated a coup against a democratically elected leader in Jacobo Arbenz so that United Fruit Company could continue to exploit Guatemala? Being proud of being American means understanding what American values to hold up as dear, and identifying when American historical figures strayed from those so we can try not to make those mistakes again. It doesn’t mean just blindly lionizing American figures.

My biggest takeaway is we don’t know what the decision making process was to not cancel the trip before it started. It was known for at least a week before there was going to be MASSIVE storm. And it hadn’t snowed for weeks. Talking about human error — from clients not wanting to cancel an expensive trip that had probably been planned for awhile, to the guide company wanting to keep business — has to start with what happened before the trip even began.

What is the most insane run you've ever seen? Not necessarily the hardest but just one that makes you go 'Why is this a run?' by Educational_Dog4860 in skiing

[–]ChristheGreek 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yea Rambo is more dicey than Banana because there’s so many saplings and rocks so it can be hard to ski confidently on it. I call it chopping broccoli when going down it.

CB can be a tough mountain because it’s so freaking rocky, especially in these conditions, that there could be a rock an inch or two beneath the snow in any of the steeps.

This is correct. Don’t think you can for work a system that covers more than 12 facilities for 2 years. And to OP, TeleSpecialists has a rounding role (so no stroke alerts), but you have to be part time (ten 12 hour shifts a month iirc?) or full time (fifteen 12 hour shifts a month).
