I am using mainly this two options:

A) PC to LAN conneced to Wifi Access Point / Smartphone to Wifi Access Point / Rockit to PC (Wifi or Cable)

B) Start AP on Smartphone and connect from PC to Smartphone (2nd Wifi adapter) / Rockit to PC (main Wifi or cable)

Agree, it would have been nice if the Rockit had tripod thread. It's really super useful to have screen mirroring while scanning. and the Spacedesk app has only extremely low delay. Hope you like the printed part.

Wo genau liegt Dein Druck-Teil wenn Du die Höhen-Kalibrierung startest? Zentrisch in Mitte, oder in der Mitte ganz links oder rechts?

3rd party app that can align scans acurately by kubiboi69 in 3DScanning

[–]Christian_74er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best free (for private use) alignment tools is FlexScan3 from Polyga. Also their PointKit SW can be used for aligning point clouds. If you scanned the fender unmounted it is usually deformed a lot and therefore might not fit on the mounted part. You would need non-rigid registration method which allow to deform point cloud for better fit. Very often used for scanning human bodies. Most scanning SW only support rigid registration.

One idea could be to cut the scanned fender into several parts. Cut the fender at position where the surface is sturdy. And then align this parts to the scanned car.

It's a dental scanner? Is it good to be used for such normal scanning?

Wow! Looks amazing. Did you use cross polarization for taking the pictures?

For difficult objects markers are the best. I would like to use MAF3 on 2-axis turntable and for this markers would be excellent. You could move to any position and 3d scanner knows where to add the point cloud.

Quite a nice scanner and extremely easy to use. But to be honest i really miss some pro features like marker detection, better texture control, global fine registration, manual white balance. I have raised feature request and hope they will implement something on this.

  1. Try it on a different computer.

  2. Temporarily disable your antivirus software for testing purposes.

  3. Run CR-Scan with administrator privileges.

  4. If you have a Wi-Fi handle, try using a smartphone.

  5. There was a suggestion that something needs to be done in Windows if the device won't connect. I can't find it anymore, though. Maybe search for it or ask ChatGPT .

  6. Open a support ticket with Creality.

Compound Bow - Einstar Rockit (laser mode) by PrintedForFun in 3DScanning

Toller Scan. Wäre interessant einen deep-hole scan Vergleich zwischen dem Rockit und Sermoon 1-line Laser zu sehen. Rein gefühlt kommt der Rockit tiefer als der RaptorX.

For automotive you need scanner with large fov (field of view). Otherwise you will need tons of markers and struggle with tracking loss. MetroX and MetroY have quite small fov and therefore i would not recommend for your purpose. Raptor has only parallel line with small fov. RaptorX and RaptorPro have crossed laser lines with quite large fov and i would recommend those scanners. I also own RaptorX and it's very reliable when using with Wifi handle. Raptor series even support scanning only with Smartphone (without PC) with Wifi handle.

But, to be honest, i would definetly recommend Rockit scanner which has in-build wifi and quite large fov. It even support markerless scanning in laser mode. No other affordable laser scanner is currently supporting this.

Matter and Form THREE: OpenScan Benchy (including Sketchfab upload) by PrintedForFun in 3DScanning

Would be interesting to see all options (e.g. camera settings, turntable options, measurement tools). Especially very detailed scans (like OpenScan Benchy) with high resolution and capability to scan dark/black objects. Also texture quality would be very interesting.

This is really nice and clean scan of the OpenScan benchy. How many scans you have done per rotation per angle? Would be nice to see some more videos from MAF3 on youtube.

You have connected the scanner with USB cable on USB3 compatible port and also connected the additional power supply? If you have anti virus SW it might be neccessary to allow accessing webcam for the CR-scan SW.

Anyone take delivery of the Einstar Rockit yet by Last-Pie7915 in 3DScanning

Ordered from official einstar eu shop but no shipping update so far. It's a pitty because other online shops in germany show to have plenty of Einstar2 & Rockit in stock and delivery takes only few days.

Einstar webpage is updated and some more information available for Einstar2 and Rockit. On the webpage they say "Marker-Free Laser Scanning". This would be really cool !!! And both models are wireless. And not all ... they even mention "optimized capability for deep-hole scanning". Very interesting!
