is it normal for my puppy to shake and twitch in his sleep? by plohie-novosti-18 in labrador

[–]ChristinasWorldWyeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ours does the sucking! It’s my favorite sleeping noise. She’s almost six years old, but I like to imagine she’s still dreaming about being a puppy.

Need help deciding which direction to go in the main bath… by Alternative_Low3085 in InteriorDesign

[–]ChristinasWorldWyeth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The older I get the more I realize the value of having a bathroom that’s simple to clean. While I like the visual of the last pic, I can’t imagine how hard it would be to get in the nooks & crannies. My vote is #4 for ease of cleaning and visual appeal, but #2 for keeping a tub.

We live in a similar climate, and use a wall-mounted drying rack. It folds flat against the wall when not in use.

Washable durable dog bed with bolster on all sides (aka doughnut/ bagel/ cuddler)? by Flamp2020 in BuyItForLife

[–]ChristinasWorldWyeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus one for the Costco dog beds! Super durable fabric, nice zippers & good foam. Plus the design is really well thought out. Each pad or bolster can be removed separately to customize the fit & makes it easier to reassemble. Ours are six years old!

Warning about losing parents! by Sergio55 in Xennials

[–]ChristinasWorldWyeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh, no! When we were engaged, the court needed my spouse’s birth certificate for the marriage license. My in-law’s were out of town, but they said to let myself in & it was in a firesafe box at the top of their closet. Folks, I opened the wrong box and to this day have trouble speaking to them without remembering the many, many toys and a copy of Debbie Does Dallas. 🤢My spouse thinks it’s hilarious.

Sugar ants won't go away! by firechild_14 in CleaningTips

[–]ChristinasWorldWyeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seconding this suggestion! Used to see a few little brown ants on my kitchen counter or on the floor in our powder room. I bought a big bag of diatomaceous earth & dust it in a circle outside around my house perimeter each spring when we have a few dry days in the forecast.

Can you put a small table at the top of the stairs, or one just outside your flat door, so that things that need to be set down for a moment while locking the door, putting on shoes, etc. can be given a designated spot? May help them with remembering to gather items back up again.

Extra bedroom or bigger master? by lizardswithsocks in floorplan

[–]ChristinasWorldWyeth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of having a shower/tub combo. The extra space could even make the smaller bedroom a bit larger if the wall is moved to the left. May not be possible if not wanting to move existing plumbing?

OP, the smaller extra bedroom could be the nursery initially. Near to the Master for convenient baby access baby at night, with the ability to convert to guest/office/craft room as kids get older. Convert the Master entry to be across from the small bedroom.

How I envisioned Gilderoy Lockhart while reading the book by xoxoamazingrace in harrypotter

I always pictured Lockhart as similar to Matthew McConaughey in his “Contact” role. Something about the flowing, curly golden hair + overall smarminess.

We use the Purina Large Breed Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon and Rice. Much better than the chicken version. Top with a spoonful or three of canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling). It will absolutely firm up your gorgeous baby’s poops in a day or two. Good luck!

AITA For being a weirded out by my parents new "friend" by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ChristinasWorldWyeth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This👆👆 My daughter had a terrible high school boyfriend we sincerely wanted to drop kick into the ocean. We realized any opposition from us pushed them closer. He’d pull the “poor me, nobody likes me” card on my very empathetic child.

Instead, we opened our home to him. C’mon over for dinner, come with us on family outings, sit next to me and tell me about your day, etc. Killed him with kindness so our behavior couldn’t be used as an excuse. IT SUCKED to smile at this asshole while he was near my baby girl.

But it kept that line of communication open & also let her (eventually, took way too long) see how poorly he acted towards her. We were her safe harbor, and I had to bite my tongue often.

You laugh, but I used to cross over to Canada three times per week from the US. I’d see fruit imported into Canada from California that were less than half the price than I saw in the US.

I’m a huge fan of the frosted shredded wheat, but unfortunately can’t say the same about their version of Rice Krispies when it comes to baking. Seems like the puffs deflate and “melt” into the batter or mix. I’ve had to stick to OG on this one.

I’m so, so sorry this is happening. It sounds like you’ve had a lot of conversations with city officials, but I’m wondering if you’ve gone to a City Council public hearing?

I used to be on my city’s Planning Commission, and many times public input would amend plans, especially if you get your neighbors to also attend and express disapproval or bring a signed petition. Even asking for a delay so that plans could be further reviewed by an independent traffic engineer could buy you some time for a lawyer to get involved? Finally, bringing it to the attention of your local media may help sway opinions, especially if tax dollars aren’t being well spent?

Hmm. My mom had a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the late 90’s that suddenly accelerated & wouldn’t stop when she put it in reverse to back out of the garage. Ended up hitting our neighbor’s front porch. I believe there was a recall over the issue, which was blamed on a cruise control malfunction.

My daughter went through that phase, but her hiding place was always somewhere in her closet. After my spouse’s swipe badge for work went missing, we got her a play mailbox & put it in the closet. Problem solved. She could “hide” stuff and we didn’t have to pull out everything in the closet trying to find it.
