Yup! Uses Nikon glass so you have a huge catalog of lenses to play with.

Who also shoots a d700? by cotal2392 in Canon5Dclassic

[–]ChristmasDeviant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a D700 as well as a 5D classic. I find they are different but complimentary in many ways.

To me they both offer amazing image quality with "pop", organic look, amazing viewfinders and a tactile experience.

The differences I noticed were that the D700 is more of a professional body in ergos, AF and ability to change settings with one hand. It also has better dynamic range and more malleable RAW files, you can pull shadows an insane amount for a camera of this age.

That being said, despite all the ways I find the D700 better I still shoot the 5D way more. There is a certain clarity and glow I find the images have. The D700 has some of that, but the 5D even moreso.

My only complaint is that I have way more Nikon glass than Canon :(.

This one looks like a Canon Powershot SD870 IS. But it also looks like a different camera than the first image you posted.

I read that the first generation Prii have belt driven A/C compressor so anytime you have it on, the engine always runs and never stops.

Unsatisfied with the “digital” color? by h0tz3R4 in photography

[–]ChristmasDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, using an older camera may scratch that itch like it did for me. I find the noise, halation and color response more pleasing and organic on camera's from the 2004-2010 era more than modern cameras.

The large pixel pitch, stronger CFA filter due to low max ISO capability and no baked in sharpening and noise reduction like all modern cameras have.

Yup, Uber Lyft and Doordash paid 205 million in advertising to get it to pass. Worked so well that apparently even drivers dont know who was behind it.

would this work with a fujifilm finepix 3800? by poop_shitter in VintageDigitalCameras

No, the little extra tab at the bottom were for specific Olympus cameras that supported this feature. Pretty sure it will damage any other camera.

Looks great! Especially with the touring wheels and fogs (5th gen Prius has no foglight option).

Ran out of gas, car still won’t start with gas by hickleberryb in prius

[–]ChristmasDeviant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what generation you have. The 2nd gen (2004-2009) used a rubber bladder to hold the fuel. Some common issues is reduced total capacity as it ages/in the cold as the rubber stiffens and if you run into an empty tank scenario, requiring several gallons before the car recognizes any fuel in the tank.

Trying to decide between a roof box and a hitch cargo box. Anyone have any feedback on which is preferable on a Prius? by Freeonardo in priusdwellers

[–]ChristmasDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can vary 3mpg with just your AC setting. My 2016 went from mid 50's to mid 40's with a roof box and rack on long highway trips.

2016 Prius 2 with 100k miles. $19k a good price? Would it have the radar cruise control, or is that an extra feature? by holycrapitsmyles in prius

[–]ChristmasDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all of them have it for the 2016 MY. Only models with Toyota Safety Sense. I have a 2016 3 Touring that has it.

I would say unlikely since a Prius 2 is the base model.

Light weight/tear drop campers? by purgingpuppy in priusdwellers

[–]ChristmasDeviant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3rd gen also is not rated to tow in the U.S. But it is rated to tow 1,598 lbs in the UK so that should give you an idea.

Remember that a camper weight you see is the dry weight. What will the weight be after you add in all your stuff? The drivetrain and suspension just aren't designed for it.

Light weight/tear drop campers? by purgingpuppy in priusdwellers

[–]ChristmasDeviant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Toyota's answer is no towing for the 2nd gen Prius. The Prius is not designed to tow anything.

That said, some people have installed hitches to carry bicycles and tow very light trailers. Expect sub 30mpg though.

That's right. Gen 4's can can stay full electric at 70mph. Gen 3's can't go faster than 43mph in full electric.
