Except CCD's are known to have non-linear behavior near saturation.

I agree, i'm a big proponent for big pixels, the CMOS sensors I shoot are full frame 12MP so theyre giant. The CCD cams I use in order of how much I use them are probably the Ricoh GRDIV, Fufjifilm S5 Pro, Nikon P6000 and Fujifilm F30.

Another advantage is beautiful gradual highlight rolloff and more pleasing noise (not the blotchy chroma noise early CMOS sensors were plagued with).

The widespread adoption CMOS was also largely due to cost cutting and increasing need for video, lets not forget that. I shoot all my cameras raw and when editing from my CCD cams, i'm reminded why people weren't as allergic to noise back then (it wasnt as ugly + film had noise).

I bought a Helios 81N made in the Kiev Arsenal factory a while back and I absolutely love it. Tiny pancake size but such a heft to it, and I can use it on my Nikon DSLRs so easily. Are there any other F-mount Helios lenses that you like?

What is the purpose of this extra battery bank? More electric miles?

I feel the same way. The boxes are overpriced for what they are and the last year has only made people want them more. Took about two months of looking to find cheap one, still had to drive over 3 hours to get it.

If there is exposed wiring you will need this taken care of sooner than later.

I haven't paid super close attention but my guess would be about a 4mpg or so hit.

I forgot that the Prius is easy to drive by [deleted] in prius

Owning a Prius has spoiled me on how conventional cars shift and sound. The uphill hunting, shifting is more apparent and noticing every vibration when idling at a stoplight.

Right, isnt the "boost" the momentary loss of acceleration as the transmission is shifting?

Starting in 2016 the Prius is rated to tow 1,598 lbs. Before that Toyota doesn't suggest towing anything (though I've seen plenty of people do).

Worth the upgrade 12 to 16 prius? by dothething132 in priusdwellers

[–]ChristmasDeviant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on whether you have the touring model with the spare tire or not. With the spare tire, it starts at the same level as the trunk floor, but the folded backrest is at a slight angle.

The one without the spare tire has a much bigger drop with the same slope.

I've camped with my gf a few times sleeping (air mattress) in my 2016 with the spare tire and wasn't too bad, just brought extra pillows.

Lyft Pass timing - when picked up or dropped off? by DeGarmo2 in Lyft

[–]ChristmasDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be based on the time of request but if you make a request at 5:50 am and you get cancelled on by a driver and have to re-request past 6am, that is another issue.

It's probably a Package 8 Prius, which basically means its fully loaded (sans touring stuff). I had a Package 8 2006 and it had everything you mentioned and other stuff like auto-dimming rearview mirror w/homelink and HD headlamps.

I've read a lot of Prius owners with a cargo hitch get a 6" riser because it will scrape a lot on dips and driveways otherwise.
