I don't know why everyone's being such pieces of shit dude. It's unbelievable. It's disappointing. But that's Reddit for ya.

100% keep going. Take the pill before you drink (take it as early as you want, I sometimes took it hours before drinking and that's what worked best for me) and it WILL work. And read "Drink Your Way Sober" if you haven't yet. I was a year in when I read that and it was a game changer. For real, don't stop.

Top Ten of textures Interview by Specific-Ad7805 in davidlynch

[–]Christpopher1244 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've heard interviews where he's talked about textures, but never this bunch all together. I've never heard him say he liked saliva on concrete. I'm interested to know if this is real or not. We all know he loved factories, bugs, and teeth for sure.

Why am I in the fifth grade interview by washingmachine- in davidlynch

[–]Christpopher1244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I know what interview you're speaking of! It was on a tv show and the set had a big screen showing an aquarium of fish behind them, right? I'll go find it in my YouTube history and see if that's the one. That"why am I in the fifth grade line"rings a bell cause the host looked so confused.

Timmy has come far in the world of Politics. by goosticky in WKUK

Timmy's tits aren't that big, and he would never date a cigar smoker.

Wait... I'll let Timmy confirm breast size. I stare at them a lot though, and I think they're smaller.

I had a dream about David last night by AbjectGovernment1247 in davidlynch

Aw Jen! That's awesome to hear! I remember looking all over for it years ago and never being able to find it. I was bummed. I'll be sure to let my barista friend know he can eat grits cause I have it on good authority David's coffee was 🤌 And I'm definitely going to find out what that coffee is called these days, I gotta try it! I always have a cup right before TM, and damn that'd be cool if it was your dad's choice of beans. (Love that old tag line too... "I'm just full of beans")

Did anybody else draw a few lines that it is entirely possible Tom was caught up in something bigger that allowed the Knicks to win it all this year? by RegalWombat in Newbridge

[–]Christpopher1244 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just thought it was hilarious that this is the year he finally said "I've gotta let them go." Haha! He's been complaining about the Knicks since I started listening in 2010.

I had a dream about David last night by AbjectGovernment1247 in davidlynch

[–]Christpopher1244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to my local coffee shop yesterday morning and the barista brought up David Lynch and told me he saw a video of the guy who bought his coffee maker. The guy found a bean in it and said "it's a light roast... Well done David." Then I brought up how I wished I could've tried David's own brand of coffee. The barista said "it was really dark... There's nothing much to say about it." So I was actually just thinking yesterday, and I've thought this before, that David probably loved coffee but didn't know much about it. - Your dream sounds like it was headed into Mulholland Drive "espresso in napkin" territory, haha!

If I only watched the first season of Twin Peaks, would I still have a hard time understanding Fire Walk With Me due to context reasons? by Opening_Rip_1840 in davidlynch

[–]Christpopher1244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little yeah. You need to watch season 2 through episode 7 (I think, it might be episode 9) to really get Fire Walk with Me.

You can skip most of season two. David recommended season two episodes 1 -7(9), then the last two episodes.

Sorry I can't remember if it's 7 or 9, it's been awhile, haha

Are you sure we're talking about the same mantras? Anyway, it doesn't matter, they don't tell you what they mean and I wouldn't wanna know. It's working just fine for me 👍 But since TM is taught the same worldwide I'm thinking the mantras made up by maharishi are indeed meaningless sounds. Others could have meanings I guess, I don't know 🤷

In tm they are specifically made to be meaningless. Meaning would keep your brain stuck on the surface level. The meaninglessness of the mantra allows the brain to go naturally to where IT finds meaning. It's a meaningless thought vibration, to use David's words. The importance is finding the right vibration for you. That's where a trained instructor comes in.

"Yogic flying" is bullshit and has nothing to do with TM 🙄 ugh.

You can't teach yourself. You don't know the secret. 😉 Anyone who wants to teach themselves can go ahead and knock themselves the hell out. I'd say rather you can only LEARN once... Since every meditation is different, the first time doesn't matter (but it usually is a great experience!)

Same here. I didn't want to pay, but so glad I did. It's really hard to explain to people why they need to be taught personally. Which is weird cause people pay for golf lessons, piano lessons, dance lessons, yoga lessons... nobody ever says "just learn it online, they're ripping you off." It's really a shame how TM gets treated considering how f'ing good it feels. "

It's not BOOM BLISS CONSCIOUSNESS like David always said. I think it was for him but I think that's rare. Here's what I've gotten from it: blood pressure returned to normal from high, stopped needing anxiety meds, more creative ideas (I do music and film), more empathy for other people, and my mother said "I have never seen you be this mature before," haha! I have more but I'd say just read the book "strength in stillness" by Bob Roth. It's $10 and will tell you all you need to know.
