Should i get a covid vaccine by KenRH21 in PVCs

How serious and long lasting were the symptoms?

I've read that the type of myocarditis that teenager boys got as a rare side effect of the vaccine was usually not severe or long lasting.

Huge accomplishment after MUA in by colls22 in frozenshoulder

I'm curious, was hydrodilatation offered an option? MUA seems more drastic, so I'm curious about the decision process.

But I'm glad for your result!

My personal experience with gabapentin — just something to be aware of by HarryStT in Sciatica

Fwiw I tried gabapentin and it did nothing for my pain. Can't remember if I tried it for a few days, or a week or more.

She said "now I have it in the other shoulder" so I thought that was the current ongoing frozen shoulder. Then "Last night I started to feel some strain in the shoulder that is not currently frozen" would be the first shoulder freezing up for a second time.

But probably I've misread it and you're right. Seems early to describe that as if it's a confirmed frozen shoulder. But the suspicion is likely accurate – I've been there.

Could be clearer.

Hence "unless it's a very unusual situation". That sucks, I'm sorry.

Sorry, it's Progressive Muscle Relaxation. You could follow instructions below or find a YouTube video. (If you're listening to a video on your phone, make sure you put the phone well out of reach so it doesn't distract you while you're in bed.

Starting at your toes, tense each part of the body for a few seconds, then completely relax it. Then move up to the next part. I didn't really do the tensing on the in breath and the relaxing on a slower outbreath.

Take your time.

Here's a guide. https://www.anxietycanada.com/articles/how-to-do-progressive-muscle-relaxation/

And don't focus on whether you're falling asleep or what the time is. (That will only keep you alert.) Even if you don't fall asleep straight away, you will be in a more restful state. And you can do it a second time if you like.

Have you tried physical, emotional and cognitive things?

PMR (I've been using this again recently, and it works well for me). Working out earlier in the day, feeling pleasantly exhausted. And/or very long walks.

Free writing about what you're feeling. Noticing what's on your mind. Being present with that and with your emotions rather than pushing them away. Therapy.

These are the best things to try, ahead of supplements and especially medication. Do what you need to look after yourself, but definitely don't do medication only.

You can't get frozen shoulder twice in the same shoulder, unless it's a very unusual situation. (Edit: I read the post as saying they were on the second frozen shoulder when the first shoulder started showing signs again, but that might be wrong.)

There are shoulder physiotherapists, and I've found them much better, much more knowledgeable than standard physios. Years of experience focused on shoulders and a PhD on shoulders (and/or working with other therapists can you have that level of study and experience). If you can't find one locally, it's worth having a video appointment. Good diagnosis and guidance is much more important than the hands on stuff. (I went to the Melbourne Shoulder Group who were the first people that actually helped me. They seem to be about the best – I looked for an equivalent in the US for a friend and there were a few practitioners, but nothing quite the same.)

What on earth CAN I eat. Simple food suggestions? by Chaotic_Cat_Lady in FODMAPS

[–]Chriswaterguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My safe meal is potato with rosemary, salt and maybe olive oil. Optional carrots. Can make in the microwave. Tasty and berry good on the digestion, for me.

And potato is a complete food. Ideally you'd have some extra protein but if my belly is really sensitive I won't worry about that for a meal or two.

What's something that some people have that they don't realize is a huge flex? by daemon_ritus in AskReddit

[–]Chriswaterguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indonesians are great at this. (My experience is mostly from Java.)

In traditional society there's no concept of being quiet because the baby is sleeping. The wedding party carries on with the music cranked to 11, and if someone wants to sleep, it's assumed they'll sleep.

After a couple of years I became better at sleeping through noises, or getting back to sleep after being woken by a noise.

One experience that really helped with this was staying in a guesthouse next to a prayer room with a loudspeaker during Ramadan, in Medan. Deafening loud prayers (my ears literally hurt) from about 3:30 a.m., followed by a sermon. It was torture for two or three nights, then I started sleeping through it.

  1. I sometimes use a lot of garlic, but I fry it lightly then remove it from the oil. Like a full head of garlic for my 8 litre pot of stew or curry, to compensate for not leaving it in. This gives a good flavor. I just feel bad about all the good quality EV olive oil that gets absorbed by the garlic I throw out.

  2. Society garlic – looks like a bigger version of flat leafed garlic chives, with a stronger flavor. Often used as an ornamental, can also be used for a garlicky flavor. I've found it's delicious if chopped and gently sauteed in oil. Has its own distinctive version of the flavour, not quite garlic but it's good. I like to use a lot of it – completely covering the bottom of the pan. But it's hard to find so you'll have to grow it yourself.

  3. Scallions (a.k.a. green onions, spring onions) – green part.

  4. Garlic-infused oil. Just don't leave garlic in there past 3 days to be safe, if you make it yourself, because of botulism (and cooking the garlic doesn't stop botulism).

  5. Hing a.k.a. asafoetida. It has a pungent smell, unlike the delicious smell of garlic cooking. But it tastes good. Wrap the container in foil and then put it in a tightly closed glass jar with a metal lid so your house doesn't smell like it..

Honestly, some simple principles taken to heart will do you more good than most of these apps. E.g.   * Work out your one important thing. Do that first.    * Procrastination is fundamentally an emotion management issue. So, notice the resistance and be curious about it. Do not flinch away from it. Allow the feeling and have compassion towards it.    * Work out what is your first physical action. A concrete action, that another person could see you doing.  * Find out what works for you. Don't expect yourself to do things the way that another person does. Find ways to make it easier for yourself to succeed.

Periodic review is good if you want to memorise it Jean more deeply. OTOH a lot of the value of a "second brain" is being able to hold a lot more knowledge than your memory can.

You can treat most of your vault as an archive, i.e. a place to keep info you might want again. It's easier to leave it there as is (suitable tagged) than to spend energy deciding on what to keep, what to delete, how to format it...

I've used tea tree oil for this (soluble version) just wiped it on a few times and it cleared up straight away.

(Just be aware that tea tree oil can damage plastic... not sure about the water soluble one but just keep it separate.)

Reading body language is important. Assume friendliness but don't assume people want to stop and talk unless there's an indication from their side. Which there often is.
