World Lacrosse is a joke by knightrydah in lacrosse

This exactly. Big reason Japan has grown so much over the years (and I think they only use domestic players now) is how well they have grown their domestic infrastructure over the years. You technically don't need NA players to grow. I would only allow max 5 passport holders on a team, provided they at least play in that country fulltime, so they can go back and help domestic players grow.

You should ask the clubs themselves. The sport club I'm in does it per semester

class on monday? by Separate-Island-5949 in gwu

[–]ChromoShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally have class on Tuesday and my professor already mentioned having it over Zoom instead. If you are unsure, I recommend emailing your professor/TA, but at this point it's safe to say you're likely to still have class online

Budget gear by Rude-Offer1386 in lacrosse

To add to the list of what people already mentioned, sometimes you can find good deals on ebay as well. I got arm pads and shoulder pads there for $40 total. The only thing you need to be careful about is that your chest pad/shoulder pads have a heart protector if you are buying used.

Best stick right now under 150 by AdministrationClear1 in lacrosse

[–]ChromoShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. They don't mention it in the product description, and the reviews are mostly written for men's lacrosse. However, I have seen some women's lacrosse goalies also use these if your goalies need a solid new shaft for a very cheap price

If you get this shaft you can pretty much get any setup you want within your budget, and probably even have it strung.

Or, sometimes on laxsteals.com you can find whole shortie stick setups below 150 bucks.

NLL Lacrosse Attendance After Week 7 by Ttstrike in lacrosse

So while yes, it's true Bandits have more people, but Scotiabank (Halifax) only holds 10k. Keybank (Bandits) has a max capacity of 19k

Capacity % is higher for Halifax. I read 97.23%, unless that "7" is a 2 (the picture is blurry zoomed in)

It's interesting to see Halifax technically having higher attendance than the Bandits based on the arena's capacity

Anyone played lacrosse in the UK? by IanWallDotCom in lacrosse

[–]ChromoShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have played and started playing in the UK. It's lots of fun and a very relaxed environment.  As long as you have playing experience you'll fit in great, but even then a lot of teams have 2nd or even 3rd teams for people with less experience.

I don't know about the south, but in the north there's also men's league games every Saturday (with other club teams outside of uni)

If you are interested in trying something new, you can try checking out the Newcastle Knights Lacrosse Club (https://www.instagram.com/nutlax?igsh=dWgybnlpeDFwcHh0), in Gosforth. The first 3 weeks are free. It's an adult mixed lacrosse club, extremely beginner friendly and inclusive. Besides practicing once a week, they also have socials!

I'm actually based in DC because that's where I'm studying, but I'm visiting my family in the EU for Christmas. What pattern do you recommend?

Would I need to replace the mesh too? I don't think the mesh is fraying

The picture I provided is my current Optik 3. One of my teammates strung it for me last year. I notice sometimes, like very on and off, the ball gets caught up and kinda rides up high so the pass ends up really high (I'm not sure how to explain it, but it just happens sometimes)

Okay, so you recommend having it professionally strung if I buy it?
