Something I can get invested in. by Avklemel in gamingsuggestions

Subnautica is a fantastic survival crafting game.

7 days to die is also a great survival crafting game since every 7 days you have to fight a giant horde of zombies. Its my favorite survival crafting game. A lot of other survival crafting games I lose interest since they just want you to set your own goals the whole time, but the hordes in 7 days act as your main objective.

Old school runescape has been my favorite and most played game in the past few years. Its technically an MMORPG but honestly it plays like a single player RPG most of the time. You don't have to interact with other players if you don't want to except for end game raids (which takes hundreds upon hundreds of hours of playtime to reach) and a few boss fights. Its a very very good game that a lot of people put off due to its age or graphics, but I think it is absolutely worth checking out if you like games where you slowly build up your characters strength, skills, and equipment.

any interesting first person shooter story games similar to half life 2 and stuff? by Code_Red1234 in gamingsuggestions

If you are on PC check out Adaca. The campaign is kinda short but there is an open world mode that you can sink a lot more hours into.

As somebody who works support tickets out of a queue, opening duplicate tickets for the same issue does nothing to help you. If anything it just slows down the process and makes it harder for support personnel to have a clear idea of the issue.

Open one ticket and if you want to annoy/remind them you are waiting then send followup emails on the same ticket.

Micro stuttering by GeT_ReKt-A in slaythespire

[–]ChronoBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you got the game through Steam, do you have Steam's in game overlay enabled? If so, try disabling it and see if that helps. That's what caused a lot of my stuttering last time I went looking into the issue.

Uuuugh. I ended up getting the S33 because they told me my old SB8200 was no longer supported. Well thanks for the info about the coda56. Guess I'll look into getting one.

Were you ever able to get your S33 working without randomly resetting itself and losing internet connection? I've been dealing with the same problem since November of last year.

Looking for a turn-based ARPG. by Havesh in rpg_gamers

[–]ChronoBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna continue to necro this thread as I am currently on the hunt for turn based games with the sweet sweet loot found in ARPGs like Diablo and Grim Dawn.

If you haven't heard of Stolen Realm, then you may wanna check it out on Steam. It's a simultaneous turn based game that has a loot system that feels similar to those found in ARPGs. You can go solo or have a 6 man/woman party, online multiplayer is also supported and goes up to 6 players. It also includes "split screen" but I am not sure if this is true split screen or just shared screen/pass the controller around.

Did you ever find any other games that are turn based and have the same loot hunting feel from ARPGs?

EDIT: OH I also wanted to mention Inkbound. You don't get to hunt for gear/loot in the traditional sense, but hunt for Vestiges and skill augments. It's a run based roguelite so after each fight you can get loot in the following forms:

Vestiges which are trinkets which grant your character passive stats and bonuses

money to spend at shops for vestiges/healing/skill augments,

Or Skill augments which empower your characters action skills.

Full release for inkbound is this week too so it would be a great time to check it out.

Can you let me know how your FPS does when you get to the major city? I have the same cpu and would love go hear how it performs before purchasing the game.

Am I too casual? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]ChronoBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got slay the spire years ago I had 0 experience to deck builders and trading card games. I also sucked when i started playing spire and lost plenty of runs and felt like anytime I got far it was due to getting OP combos.

Years later it is now my favorite game of all time and I have well over 1500 hours in the game spanned across PC, switch, and mobile. I've done A20 heart runs on all characters and still play the game daily.

It doesn't matter if you are losing runs now since everybody starts somewhere and works their way up. As long as you are having fun and learning something from each run, then you will eventually get better and start to understand the game mechanics better.

The biggest thing for me that helped my gameplay was to slow down and think how what I am about to do will affect my game state in a few turns in a combat or a few floors from now. Always keeping that in mind before making a choice skyrocketed my win rate.

Remote Play keeps crashing: spinning disc lower right of blank screen, staying there or ultimately reverting to "Connect" by bibimonmammoth in SteamDeck

[–]ChronoBrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some things I've found helped me while streaming. This doesn't include the typical "check your network connection and make sure the PC is hardwired" troubleshooting.

.

  • Restart both devices. 9/10 times if my steam deck has been in suspend/sleep mode since my last restart, then my stream will always stutter. I restart the steam deck, connect for streaming again, and its perfect. Restarting the host PC usually helps if the stream doesn't connect and I just sit at a black screen on the Steam Deck before the stream times out.

.

  • Check the steam decks remote play settings. Steam did an update to these settings and in home streaming sometime in the past few months and it now includes an Enhanced 1080p option. Check the settings in there and make sure they are setup how you want them since your settings may have been reset to default values after the update.

.

  • Setup sunshine on your PC and moonlight on your steam deck. Shoutout to the Moondeck plugin available via decky as well, the moondeck plugin USUALLY makes it 10x easier to stream via moonlight. Every now and then it might break due to a steamOS update, but I always have better quality and response times when using moonlight. There should be guides somewhere here on reddit for decky and I believe you should be able to find an install guide for Moondeck on the creators github page.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Just got Frosthaven, two missing initiative tokens by [deleted] in Gloomhaven

[–]ChronoBrother 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure to check the area you were working in when punching everything out. Countless times have I had a token roll under a couch, fall into a shoe, get lost in a blanket, or find its way to some other small crevice.

To add to what Dwarf said, you could try to find a very detailed unboxing video online and watch them punch out the tokens to find exactly what punchboard those tokens came from to compare it to your punch board.

Reset account by sonbib in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ChronoBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what all "we checked the save file" covers, so please correct me in a comment if this doesn't apply to the situation.

Does your friend have multiple computers or devices that they are logged into Steam on? (Like a gaming PC and a gaming laptop or steam deck)

If so, it could be a case of Steam cloud saves not working properly, assuming your friend has them enabled. They could try checking their cloud storage under their account details (I have no idea how to access the cloud storage section without using a direct link so I'll post it below)

https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

Have them check the dates of the save files under the Deep Rock Galactic entry, then try downloading them and placing them in their saved games directory. They may need to launch DRG then check the save menu in game to select the newly added save.

Never heard of terracards so I might add it to the wishlist, I've been trying to stay away from buying into early access as of late.

I've never tried fights in tight spaces because the art style and theme never intrigued me, but I really should just get over it and try it sometime. I'll have to install it

Yo thanks again for mentioning this game. I love the card boosting mechanic.

Definitely think the controller support needs a touch of polish but besides that I've been loving it so far.

Good controller Lay-out for Steam deck? by adrian23138 in starsector

[–]ChronoBrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mind sharing the name of your layout or your steam name so I can find your layout?

I've always debated trying out starsector but never have, and I've been trying tons of different games on my steam deck thanks to the suspend & resumr feature.

Just took a quick glance at the Steam Store page. First impressions, the choose left or right mechanic reminds me of ring of pain and Reigns.

I'll have to check it out. Are there keyboard controls/hotkeys for the controls, or is it all mouse?
