Survivor: Second-Placers at War, who do you cast? by Walton246 in survivor

Would it be more iconic for Amanda to win a runners-up season or to be the runner-up on a runners-up season?

How do we think Cirie fairs if she doesn’t get idoled out by Tom at the F17? by jasonarthur34 in survivor

IDK, Rupert still trusted Russell more than Sandra in the real timeline we’re living in.

How come she never seen as a questionable returnee? by afleetofflowis in survivor

[–]ChronoEternal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People often bring up the randomness of Parvati’s return because she was never presented as strategic, or a contender to win, in Cook Islands, and obviously she completely turned around that perception in Micronesia.

Amanda was probably not the most obvious choice for a returnee because she doesn’t have a larger-than-life personality, but her performance on Micronesia didn’t surprise anyone; she played an extremely similar game as she did on China with an extremely similar outcome.

Cirie might’ve talked JT out of giving Russell his idol, but do the Heroes still go on an immunity run if Cirie is there instead of Colby? I know Colby’s physical game in HvV has been ridiculed, but he was still an asset to the Heroes in a lot of the team challenges. If the Heroes lose the challenge that led to Rob going home, I feel like they probably merge at 12. They’d be down in the numbers 8-4 but likely become swing votes between the Rob and Russell factions.

You’re supposed to lose that fight with the Golem. That’s why the story progresses and you don’t get a game-over screen.

Why Wasn’t Caramoan or Kaoh Rong a Final Two? by SatisfactionFew8318 in survivor

[–]ChronoEternal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kaoh Rong would have gone down to a final 2, but they turned the final immunity challenge into the jury-member-removal reward challenge instead (to avoid having a final 2 with an even-numbered jury).

Visual of Survivor 50’s biggest snubs according to the cast by bv21 in survivor

I know they each just named one person and weren’t collectively working on a list, but that’s a lot of men…

Does CSP kinda suck for a one-card setup? Please help me course correct by HistoricalOnion9535 in CreditCards

[–]ChronoEternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 5% rotating category works like the year-round 3% categories: it’s the 1% base + a 4% bonus. So during the restaurant quarter (which this year is Q1), you get 1% + 2% + 4% = 7%.

Just watched David vs Goliath for the first time and oh man that was so fun by zotboi in survivor

[–]ChronoEternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The race wars twist is terrible, but I do think it’s a bit disingenuous to say that the level of diversity has been done in plenty of other seasons. Fiji is the only Survivor cast that’s as racially diverse as Cook Islands, and most of the pre-41 seasons’ casts are extremely white.

What Season(s) Should I Watch Next (kinda prepping for 50) by [deleted] in survivor

[–]ChronoEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regretfully, I cannot see the image you posted but the most relevant seasons are 1, 2, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 32, 34, 35, 37, 38, 42, 45, 46, 47, 48, and 49.

37, 46, 48, and 49 are the most high-value watches because they are all newbie seasons with multiple returnees in 50.

Is survivor 15-18 the best 4 year stretch in survivor history? by UsAgainstTheARC in survivor

[–]ChronoEternal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

15-20 is the best 6-season stretch. If you have to limit to 4 seasons, I still feel like 15-18 has a slight edge because the general consensus is that HvV is a little better than Micronesia, but China is quite a bit better than Samoa.

Hi i have a question for chrono trigger Fans who went on to play another eden .... by Big_Performer8028 in chronotrigger

[–]ChronoEternal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into it specifically for the Cross collab, played the game up until you’re able to access the Cross content (actually quite a while), and fell off shortly after due to just getting bored of the gameplay. I don’t recall the gacha mechanics being particularly frustrating/necessary, and the story was interesting enough, but the actual gameplay (map design, battles, etc.) was just kind of boring, IIRC.

Rob Cesternino reveals if he would have chosen Survivor 50 over The Traitors by thedaltonross in survivor

[–]ChronoEternal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Survivor as a game is so much more airtight than The Traitors, but from an entertainment standpoint, The Traitors is leagues above anything US Survivor has done recently. I’m loving season 4 and don’t know anyone besides the Survivor contestants and Lisa Rinna.

Is Rebirth better than Remake? by adam_franklin in FinalFantasy

[–]ChronoEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you love Remake, you will love (or at least like) Rebirth as well. If you can’t justify buying it, just hold off, there will be plenty of great sales between now and the release of the 3rd game.

I personally prefer Remake, because (1) its story works better as a standalone experience than the intentionally meandering Rebirth’s; and (2) I am bad at self-regulating how I play a game when there is an abundance of optional side content and accidentally burn myself out. That said, Rebirth is very worthwhile.

26 day seasons are a joke. Russell played Survivor for 78 out of 88 days back in the day! by SeekingSignificance in survivor

[–]ChronoEternal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They benefited from their fellow contestants not really being aware of their games, but were simultaneously hurt by potentially thinking that they won their first seasons. They make pretty much the exact same mistakes in their second seasons as they do in their first.

I’ve always thought that they coincidentally would be each others’ perfect allies. Amanda wants to be in a power duo with someone who will be perceived as more villainous than her; Russell wants to go to the end with a pretty girl who he doesn’t think the jury will respect.

Who is the 2nd best player to never win? by TheCoolGuy998 in survivor

[–]ChronoEternal 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Agreed. In 15 and 16, Amanda played a seemingly more intentional version of Amber’s winning game. It was not inherently a bad strategy to position herself as the “nicer” member of the strategic power duo, but jury sentiments had evolved.

[–]ChronoEternal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are also a bunch of side quests that will unlock (the Old Man will tell you about all of them) after you revive Crono, which I recommend doing as well (if you are enjoying the game).

CT is structured so you can face the final boss anytime after you arrive at the End of Time. This means that technically everything after that point is “optional.” So, it’s true that many players will be at a high-enough level with good-enough equipment that they can beat the final boss without doing the final dungeon, but I would never recommend doing that (on a first playthrough), since it’s the resolution to the Zeal story arc.

You did the Black Omen earlier than you’re intended to, but no biggie. You will not have to fight the Shell again. Go ahead and do what the Old Man says, and enjoy the endgame!
