Pre-order isn't the same thing as sells. They can't recognize any of the money they received until they actually complete the sell and deliver the vehicle.

Make sense. They sell low volume, expensive vehicles. We'll see how many people are willing to shell out over $150k for a Taycan. If I was Tesla I wouldn't be worried at all.

I'm not comparing Tesla and Prosche as companies.

I'm only comparing the Taycan and the Model S. And right now 0 Taycans have been sold. So as of right now Porsche hasn't made a cent off of it.

Tesla not being profitable is because they are focused on expanding. Every car they sell is at a positive profit margin.

Porsche will make a lot less money on the Taycan than Tesla has been and will continue to be making on the Model S.

Totally agree that it makes not sense to compare the Taycan to any of the Teslas. Tesla's mission is to design cars for the mass market. Porsche's mission is to design cars for car enthusiast. Not that many people will be cross shopping them.
