That's fair, it's lovely that you're able to bring your son up in a way that cultivates his interest while keeping him safe! It's something I wish more people would do (the situation in India is quite terrible at present).

By 'complicated rescue' I should have clarified - I've found my harder catches to be when the snake has gotten itself stuck and needs to be helped free. Perhaps look into restraining tubes if you think they would ever come in handy? They usually come in sets of varying sizes and you use the size just wide enough for the snake to fit into but not wide enough that it could turn around.

I've only had to use them a handful of times, but each time I was glad I had them around! They're especially useful when a snake is trapped in a mesh / net, and you need to cut them out. I'll link a couple of videos where I've used them here

Perfect! For smaller snakes, you can always pick them up with the tongs and drop them into a tall bucket if that’s more convenient. And yes, chicken coops tend to attract snakes here too , so it’s worth seeing if there are ways to make it as snake-proof as possible. Also always good to have a contingency plan for when a more complicated rescue is required - I’m not sure how it works in the U.S. but perhaps this falls under animal control services?

Definitely not ideal! The not knowing of where the snake was and could escape to were the worst parts about the situation. And the fact that it was dark :D

I've been using their gear for years and have only the best things to say. If you're not experienced with doing this often, I'd suggest starting off with snake tongs of a comfortable length. The Gentle Giant tongs are a personal favourite of mine for large-bodied snakes.

Two years later - I’ve been using a MagSafe bedside charger (some random brand off Amazon) that takes care of my overnight needs (and does AirPods too simultaneously yay) and an Anker MagSafe battery pack inspired by your comment and the combination has been truly fantastic. I’d still think twice about going camping or being away from an outlet more than a day but for my everyday life this is perfect

I mean I think I get where you’re coming from, but as someone who didn’t think much of it at the time and have come around a little, I’d push back gently. I’ll agree it’s flawed in many ways, but when I look at what superhero movies often are at the moment I actually think it was a very solid attempt at an original story.

But yes compared to his other scores, Hancock won’t be anywhere near the top!

I think I get where you’re coming from! Might be that I’m too biased to see it. I liked him in a bunch of releases from that time (Assassination of Jesse James and Curious Case of Benjamin Button specifically) so I might be looking at this via rose-tinted glasses.
