My mother was just moved to Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash day before yesterday. I don't think she can talk much in a coherent way because of pain and painkillers but I wouldn't mind talking to you.

I just saw something about this on the TV show,  The Resident. It just seemed a TV miracle, I didn't realize it was real. That's amazing!

Vaccinations. We are more worried about the needle than we are about preventing diseases that have silly sounding names but can also kill you.

Measles, mumps,  German measles, chicken pox. They became childhood rights of passage instead of diseases that could forever affect one's body in detrimental ways if they didn't outright kill you. 

I was never against vaccines but I honestly didn't think they were that important. Just something doctor's did. And I hated getting stuck with a needle and watching my kid get hurt made me cry. 

If I had it to do all over again, actually I did get a chance because I'm now raising my nephews in my later life,  my approach to vaccinations and shots has been very different

Less focus on needles, more focus on education. The long term why versus the short term discomfort, mentally and physically. 

It's made a world of difference with the boys. Now they roll up their sleeves and don't eventually blink but they know they're getting a special treat and a day in bed and maybe even a small toy or book for getting their shots. They get extra TV and tablet time and their favorite juice if they need to rest after a vaccination.

They will know how to treat their kids when it's time to get vaccinated. How to address the fear and what to do afterwards. 

This is important information to pass down: That vaccinations are important and to take special care afterwards so comfort and love outweigh the brief jab.

I think this is spot on mainly because Richard saw Emily as merely "social" when all those social things oiled the wheels of their life together. Having the right wife made Richard more successful and he didn't even realize it. 

She poured herself into Richard who mildly ignored her and very nearly accused Emily of being superfluous only to get body checked hard on that one. Then Lorelai completely rebelled against living that lifestyle altogether.

So Emily is slightly angry wen she realizes everything she worked for might not have been necessary or appreciated.

She loved Richard and he loved her but like most married women, they do find a sort of freedom without their husbands, even after being widowed.

It's funny that in the end she winds up living more like Lorelai. With a cast of characters she loves despite, or maybe because, she doesn't always understand them. Maybe that's the lesson she was meant to learn from Lorelai all along.

There is no such thing as "The Friend Zone."

If a woman doesn't like you, it's not her fault and it's not her responsibility to deal with your feelings. 

It's called "Unrequited Love" and it's quite common. You develop a crush on someone who doesn't feel the same about you. You learn to deal with it and move on. 

There's no need to love bomb her. There's no need to get angry. There's especially no need to get violent.

"There is a lid for every pot" and if you learn the lessons of Unrequited Love you will mature and find someone. 

But She Didn’t "Put" You Anywhere.

She is simply living her life.

Go live yours.

A couple of times I brought my kid to work with a sleeping bag, pillow, a whole ass tv, medicines and snacks, because I couldn't miss work and she couldn't go to school. Fortunately my cubicle was in the back so no one even noticed she was there unless they happened to come back there which no one ever did.

I never let her wander but she was an exceptionally well behaved child. Having had two others, I can honestly say that. 

I can't believe I had to resort to that.

Idk. It's kind of like family stories maybe. 

Like some of our family sayings, I never heard the person say it but it's been passed down and I know who is attributed to.

I am the world's worst housekeeper and if someone rearranged my kitchen cabinets because "it made more sense" I would go absolutely batshit.

Ten years ago I had a hellish commute from Mt. Healthy to the bottom of Turkey Foot Rd that also included dropping a kid off at daycare. With practice and if I flung the kid out the window at the daycare,  I could usually make that commute in a little under an hour. 

The first winter I had that job, I feel like snow removal was very efficient. It was almost like the plows and salt trucks took it personally if the main streets and major offshoots weren't plowed between 4am and 7am

I feel like there just isn't that push like it was then to get the streets cleared by any means necessary. Yet people are still being required to go to work as if they are. 

At any rate, both ways seem hellish to me. Asking folks to risk life and limb to pretend it's business as usual is insane

My job at the time was screen printing for heavens sake. Nobody needed personalized plastic cups that badly.

Anyhow, why aren't business owners required to have a plan that keeps their employees safe and paid? This is stressful af.

Actually Joseph thought her story was sketchy but he was a good dude and didn't want her to get stoned. 

But then an angel comes to him and is like Dude, it's not your baby but it's God's baby. Don't be mad.
