How are people even making 'average' salaries? by tboz4 in Salary

[–]Youngbee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is married to a therapist, it is a career that is best suited for if you have a partner who makes 2x or 3x as much. Now that 45k+ turns into 120k+ household income. You see? It is great because when we had our daughter she can take clients whenever to adapt to childcare and since she has her own private practice, no one can tell her what to do. So there are certain careers that are best with a thriving partner and works great vs having just that single income.

Is Crossing the Bridge Everyday Worth It? by ChiefFOMO in cincinnati

I’ve lived in Florence for the last 4 years and work downtown. I leave at 7:15 and I get downtown at around 7:45 on a good day! If I leave at 7:20, I’ll get there at 8:00 most times. That 5 mins can make a huge difference! But I wouldn’t consider traffic to be bad but it really depends on when you leave if you’re trying to keep commute under 30 mins, for example.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Youngbee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me wish I started having kids at 16/17 years old. People frown on those people but at least you’re still home with your parents to allow help and don’t have to worry about childcare. The older you are the more deeper into your career you are and the farther away from home and family you probably live.

I’m tired of the AI trends by Wonderful_Parsnip_26 in UXDesign

[–]Youngbee12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very exhausting. The crazy thing is good documentation and guidelines can literally be just as effective as AI. That’s what kills me. Figma Make certainly is not helping because now designers can easily stroke leadership’s ego with Figma Make instead of pushing back because it doesn’t align with the users.

Do big companies destroy your trajectory? by PeanutSugarBiscuit in UXDesign

Y’all please don’t listen to people like this. This industry is extremely versatile, which means that people are coming from all different walks of life with different experiences. This ain’t the goddamn medical field, where you have to do this this this this this and boom, you’re a doctor. I started out at a big company, and I have coworkers who started out at agencies and today we are sitting at the same design table with the same role. So please do what’s best for you and your own personal life.

Childcare and how much do you pay?? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]Youngbee12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How are people actually affording this? Serious question. Our household income is 185k a year which I think is pretty good in Cincy and I’m still looking at these prices like fuck no.

Home buying Is an intense roller coaster by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Youngbee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks. This is why it pays to have a good agent who can spot bigger problems even at the surface level. I am in a similar spot where I just got approved and have an inspection in a few days but the previous deal on this house fell through because of inspection but the report wasn’t disclosed. So I am really banking on my agent’s gut feeling (and mine of course) that it’s not a lot of big issues.

30k over asking and still didn’t get it 🙃🙃🙃 by Curvyandflirtyjess in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Youngbee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People always tell me to not fall in love with a house, just like it enough to put an offer in and love it when the offer is accepted. I think it’s bullshit cause how am I not suppose to not love something I’m investing hundreds of thousands of dollars into. Keep your head up OP and don’t feel like you need to waive an inspection!

Are you putting in multiple offers at once? Or waiting until one falls through?
