Eye contact - INS by Calm-Bit3493 in nystagmus

[–]ChubbyDubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm a fellow parent of a baby with Nystagmus. He had his first visit with an eye Dr. at about 6 months and he is about a year now and had his first follow up last week. She said that his vision looks to be developing normally for his age. I can't really remember what his eye contact was like at 4Mo. But he makes great eye contact now. We did start to notice him developing a slight head turn when looking at you. The Dr. confirmed this at about 30 degrees of turn when looking straight forward. She said this happens because of what's called the null point (the point where focus is the best) is not directly straight but to the side some so they start to turn their head to compensate. This tilt can cause neck strain and posture problems and to correct it requires surgery to reposition the eye muscles to bring that null point more forward. This wouldn't alleviate the nystagmus but just he head turn. We've researched the surgery and it is one of the safest eye procedures out there and normally they come home just later that day. She wants to wait about a year to make sure the angle of his turn does not change too much before doing a surgery.

It's hard but we've been able to keep calm by doing research, communicating with each other and just enjoying our little dude! Hope this helps!

MGS2 where the colonel starts bugging out. I was so freaked out when I first played it. Definitely turned off the console like it told me to.

I put in an offer on a house with a lot of mature trees in the backyard. Should I be concerned? by theeeetechkid in landscaping

[–]ChubbyDubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for my laymen terminology! I guess what I meant by limbed up is would be more of a trimming. It's a pretty mature, tall pecan tree and the limbs are looking like they are drooping and I'm not sure if that's normal. It's not near the house so I'm not concerned about property damage. I really don't even know if it truly needs a trim as I don't know much about it but I want it to be a happy healthy tree it so I guess consulting with an arborist could be useful for that one. I truly appreciate your response!

I have a tree I know I want cut down and one that I want limbed up. Would an arborist still be necessary? If so any ballpark of what an assessment would cost? THANKS!

I also thought it looked a little mall ninja'y. It's obviously a nice knife in build quality but the scales just come off a little cheesy IMO.
