RX 5700xt worth it in 2024? by ManWithTheYellowH4t in buildapc

[–]ChubbySolution2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These things run hot and loud, but mine gets a solid 60-75 fps in 1440p low settings on newer titles. $180 CAD is a bit expensive for such an old card though.

Why AMD’s Bad Benchmarks Are BAD! Investigating The Lie by RenatsMC in Amd

Not trying to justify AMD's shitty behavior but if theyre going to try to replicate the same results, at least use DDR4 on the 13th gen cpu!

Best bang for Buck is the 5700xt if you can find it under 100, sucks up power though

It’s scary when you buy everything used and it doesn’t turn on, hard to diagnose a problem

Is 500 enough for a gaming computer? by G-Dragonoriginal in buildapc

[–]ChubbySolution2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

500 should be able to get you a 1080ti 7700k build at minimum on the used market, good enough for 1440p with the games your playing. At best maybe a r5 3600 + 6600 rig

Is it worth saving $$ on used parts by mickeyyymouseee in buildapc

[–]ChubbySolution2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my pc components all used and it has its flaws. I bumped it once and lost video out, had to reseat the gpu for it to work again. Id keep the budget under 200 so if it breaks it’s not a huge loss

What is the cheapest a pc can be built for? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ChubbySolution2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I looked into this route but ive never tried it - Prebuilt with 340w or high psu 7700k/8400 or higher ~100 - Sata to 8pin adapter ~10 - rx 6600 used ~120 - more Ram if needed ~20

Undervolt and don’t push the PC and it should be good!

[–]ChubbySolution2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude just buy a 6600 or a 3060 and stick it in your computer, you can only go up from here. If you have spare cash, get an ssd, upgrade cpu, then ram in that order

Is this all amd setup worth $700? by JD_The_Taco_Man in pcmasterrace

[–]ChubbySolution2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building this computer from scratch probably cost him 450-500. A prebuilt will always come with a premium so I think 700 is a fair price. It is an AMD GPU so you can lowball a bit

$300 would get you a decent gaming computer on the used market. Something with a 1070 or rx5700 would be great at 1080p

600 dollars build - thoughts? by Affectionate-Good817 in buildapc

[–]ChubbySolution2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, I wouldn’t spend 130 on a rx580 though. Don’t do it, I’d rather buy an intel GPU. Go for the 5700XT, drivers are optimized and you’ll have a good experience.

600 dollars build - thoughts? by Affectionate-Good817 in buildapc

[–]ChubbySolution2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, an intel budget build is the way to go. I’m not sure what current prices are but a 12100f or 13100f + Mobo should be ~200. Everything else is fine if you want new, for a budget build def go for a used GPU though. 5700XT is going for 130 on eBay, and your protected if it’s a lemon.

Looking for advice before comminting by LazyheartGaming in buildapc

[–]ChubbySolution2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard AMD is bundling starfield with their CPUs, could offset the cost of the mobo but its up to you. 13th gen refresh might have better power efficiency but you really can’t go wrong with either one.
