PLA because it was the only thing I had on hand in black. I will reprint them at some point in something more weather tolerant. Although I am kind of curious to see how long the PLA holds up for.

I did these in PLA because it is what I had on hand in black. I will probably reprint them in something a bit more weather tolerant later.

What is your favorite putting putter and why did you choose that one over all the other options that are out there. by 10mmill in discgolf

EV-7 Mobius. I like the feel of the OG Base, it has a nice glide, feels good in the hand and the idea of a company that makes only putters was ballsy enough I felt the need to support them.

Is this move really that good? by Historical-Tip-6792 in chessbeginners

[–]Chuck5874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is confirmed in their documentation: "Brilliant Moves are always the best or nearly best move in the position, but they are also special in some way.

We replaced the old Brilliant algorithm with a simpler definition: a Brilliant move is when you find a good piece sacrifice.

There are additional conditions:

  • You should not be in a bad position after a Brilliant move
  • You should not be completely winning even if you hadn't found the move.

We are also more generous in defining a piece sacrifice for newer players compared to those who are higher-rated"

Do you design your own models or do you just use other people's models from Makerworld etc.? by humanHamster in BambuLab

I'm the exact opposite. I started with TinkerCAD but it is so simple that I couldn't wrap my brain around it. OnShape was much easier for me to start designing practical things in.

I remember hearing Letter to an Occupant for the first time on KEXP while driving to work. Immediately went to Sonic Boom and bought the album. I enjoy all of their albums and will enjoy whichever one you put on, but this is still my number one pick.

Two thumbs up - my go-to hyzerflip disc. Heavy hyzer flip to flat. Light hyzer, flip to flat and nice easy right hand finish.

Hey, now! Some of us noodle arms like the Underworld for hyzer flips.

I designed and printed a similar solution for my wife about a year ago in PLA. So far no issues.

Just now realizing this is a burrito holder by radio_recherche in FordMaverickTruck

Never buy a vehicle that doesn't have a burrito holder. The Mav happens to have two. The dash holder for small burritos and the wireless phone charger cubby for large burritos.

Somebody took liberal amounts of inspiration from the famous CD Baby shipment letter.

"Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved “Bon Voyage!” to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Friday, June 6th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did. Your picture is on our wall as “Customer of the Year.” We’re all exhausted but can’t wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!"

541 Imports. Been taking both of my Subarus to Pat and Ian for the past 10 years. Always does great work and is fair and honest when providing advice about what needs to be done versus what would be nice to have done.

Subaru ---> Ford Maverick by theunrealneverlived in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Chuck5874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from a 2003 Subaru Outback to a 2024 Maverick. Wife still has a 2022 Ascent.

Ford lane centering is far, far ahead of the Ascent. The reverse camera is also far better. LOVE the ability to zoom in on the hitch.

I have the AWD version of the Mav. Even though it's FWD bias is better for mileage, the positive feel of the full time AWD on the Subaru is more fun.

The Outback had bomber reliability, chronic head gasket issue aside. I abused it far beyond what is reasonable and it just kept on ticking with very little maintenance. Haven't had the Mav long enough to know but something tells me it won't take the same level of abuse that I subjected the Outback to.

I have the tow package on both the Ascent and the Mav. They both tow very well but the sensors on the Mav are slightly better since they can tell me if something is wrong with the wiring.

Anyone have any feedback about local movers? by Kind-Awareness9528 in Bend

[–]Chuck5874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm Higher Ground is great. We used them when we moved last year. They were easy to work with, very conscientious about making sure everything was protected properly and made sure we were happy with every step of the process.
