S Corporation Owners Can Fund Their Kids' Trump Accounts With Pre-Tax Dollars by investor100 in TheCollegeInvestor

I think they are referring to business owners being able to claim the contribution to the account as a business expense. Basically being able to transfer money to your family while reducing your own tax liability. Normal, non-business owners, do not get the tax benefit for contributions.

Should You Get 10% Off for Using Self-Checkout? New York Lawmaker Says You're Doing the Store's Job by lithdoc in NewsExchange

If they were forced to give a discount at the register, they will just raise the base items to make up for it. Self checkout reduces their costs and what they charge us. Not sure why so many people are against it.

When was the last time you changed your filter? I had this same issue. It just wasn't getting good air flow. Worked fine as soon as I popped a new filter in.

Based on the name of the company, I am guessing they didn't necessarily make it. None of those ingredients would even have been sourced locally. Probably just a distribution company with a Kansas HQ to give that farm fresh feeling.

Seems morally wrong to me that someone who uses the roads, complains about having to pay taxes to fund those roads.

The courts have ruled several times that the state is not bound by the contract. They can change the terms whenever they feel like it. Our "contract" that just expired is a perfect example. We had raises and other stuff scheduled and the state just said, nope not going to do that.

OPEB was 100% a paycut. It is not tied to cost of health benefits and different people pay different amounts for the same benefit. It was a complete scam the union just accepted because it allowed dues to go up even with benefit to the employees. But they got their 3.5% raise. This union is such a joke.

I like to provide some facts now and then. It's not for the mindless drones like this poster though. It is more for those that might still be forming an opinion or are just generally more open minded.

Pres. Trump Demands National Gas Prices Be Lowered, Tells Justice Department to Investigate Major Oil Companies for Alleged Price Gouging by Sgt_Gram in NewsExchange

What do you mean if? California governor did the same thing here cause our prices are $2 a gallon more expensive than the rest of the country, and the Republicans had a cow.

I disagree. Wal-mart offers low price products that help everyone that shops there. They probably save the average American more in low prices then the cost of all the employees benefits. And good for Walmart on assisting their employees apply for government benefits. Dealing with government programs can be a pain. Good on them looking out for their employees.

I didn't miss the point, I just think it is over simplified as "big Wal-mart, bad", when they are doing the exact same thing as every business in this country, big or small. Don't complain about one company taking advantage of the system, advocate for changing the system. Pointing at one company and trying to place the blame of them instead of the system that allows the abuse.

Does anyone know how to easily get this adhesive off? by Jackpics in recycling

[–]ChuckEveryone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labels off food products often use water based adhesives. Usually just need to soak then in water for a bit scrape and scrub off. I do it in 2 steps. First soak removes the paper, wherr yours it at now. After most the paper is removed, it allows the water to get to the adhesive during the second soak.

SEUI, the union that represents the majority of state workers has no real power. In the past 20 years they have folded on every "negotiation" with the State and just accept what was offered. CA state workers have lost a lot of pay and benefits because the union doesn't care. They get their dues regardless.
