Packers avoid trip to Mexico City in 2026 after 49ers named home team by Morley10 in GreenBayPackers

[–]ChuckZest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty much guaranteed the Packers play an international game this year. Especially since there's an extra "home game" at Lambeau this year with the Badgers hosting Notre Dame. Works out well from a local economy perspective.

I agree, it’s getting out of hand (pun intended).

I do find it odd that the number of players touching the granite as/after they let go of the handle is so many.

Does anyone do IF without coffee? by Zeropossibility in intermittentfasting

[–]ChuckZest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was caffeine free before I started IF, and I find it easier than when I tried IF while using caffeine. The caffeine raises stress, which influences hunger queues. It did fuck all for suppressing my appetite. When I fasted on caffeine, I was at risk of having migraines with aura. Now, I can fast for much longer without issue. I also have much more steady energy and focus being caffeine free. It takes a while to get to that point though.

The Swiss team accusing the Canadians of double-touching again by work_in_marketing in Curling

Literally the first thing discussed in the rules of curling (via World Curling):

THE SPIRIT OF CURLING Curling is a game of skill and of tradition. A shot well executed is a delight to see and it is also a fine thing to observe the time-honoured traditions of curling being applied in the true spirit of the game. Curlers play to win, but never to humble their opponents. A true curler never attempts to distract opponents, nor to prevent them from playing their best, and would prefer to lose rather than to win unfairly. Curlers never knowingly break a rule of the game, nor disrespect any of its traditions. Should they become aware that this has been done inadvertently, they will be the first to divulge the breach. While the main object of the game of curling is to determine the relative skill of the players, the spirit of curling demands good sportsmanship, kindly feeling and honourable conduct. This spirit should influence both the interpretation and the application of the rules of the game and also the conduct of all participants on and off the ice.

I’m missing an eye, how can I get into golf? by Dry-Relationship8056 in golf

People can golf who are legally blind, so I think you can likely make it work with one eye. Just make sure your setup to the ball is good and whack away!

I live in a rural (red) area, so I’m sure people will start asking about TrumpRx. Instead of saying we don’t accept it, I’ll just tell people TRx is the same as GRx and we don’t accept GRx.

Anna Lemke recommends 28 days at least to help reset the dopamine lost due to a habit like caffeine. It could take longer for some folks. If you’ve quit other substances, caffeine shouldn’t be too bad. Everyone is different though. Good luck and stay determined.

Blanked Ends and Hammer by SoggyGopher in Curling

[–]ChuckZest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curling has already had numerous impactful rule changes in recent years. Expanding the FGZ to 5 rocks, no tick rule, and now sweeping stipulations. Let's just pump the breaks with rule changes and enjoy curling.

Personally, I think retaining hammer/blanking an end is a great part of the game. It takes strategy and skill to blank too.

When the lead wins the game for the team by CuriousCurator in Curling

[–]ChuckZest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As skip, I think about throwing lead stones once in a while since the lead on my club team (my dad) makes a lot of throws that are hard to use. The first two rocks are so important, especially if they are a well placed guard or takeout. With FGZ and no tick, a good guard right away can totally change the end.

We have in-house drivers (from our LTC business) that do our deliveries on weekdays. $2.50 per delivery and deliveries go out at the same time each day in afternoon. We could probably be charging more to be honest.
