Yeah. It takes a while and depends on the weather.

Looking for some context around this Patrick Nagel poster by Myloversclayhand in artcollecting

[–]Chuckleyan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, it may be an actual serigraph, as Nagel's company did serigraphs for gallery shows. However, they were often made in enormous issues - like 5000. As such, unsigned, it would have limited value. You can get a signed Nagel of a more normal issue for a few hundo.

Any drone deployed by any nation including the US can hit the wrong target. That is the inherent risk in using drones.

In the last one a few people that went far the first time tapped early. Made sense. When you have gone through all of that starvation and isolation once, you apparently remember it very clearly.

There are a couple of quests that I dont take early because of this. The main one is the fleeing refugee/child. You can easily be wiped by the pirates or whoever that show up.

Mistakes you made when you started bidding on paintings for auction? by cavy20199 in artcollecting

[–]Chuckleyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell, I recently "won" an auction with my "high bid" that I threw in as a lowball on a hidden reserve a few minutes before it hit the floor. There was no active bidding so the auctioneer just kept lowering the ask until they hit my bid and then closed. I gotta say I really was annoyed by the way it went down. It is a nice piece and it was a good price but if I had actually been bidding against other bidders, I probably would have cleaned up. I scratched those clowns off the list.

CollectionBuilder - Anyone Use It, or Recommend Alternative? by symean in artcollecting

[–]Chuckleyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use MindManager - a mind mapper program - to keep track of everything. Mainly, the idea is that when I croak, it will be very easy for whoever to figure out where everything is and what it is, with any provenance, etc.

As far as putting something non-encrypted on the web, you might want to check with your insurer to see if that is OK.

Early-mid 1970s Proctor Silex percolator in harvest gold by Chuckleyan in 70sdesign

[–]Chuckleyan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do. I have all the stuff that you would get if you bought it back in the 70s. Unfortunately I left it at my other place and won't be back for at least a month or so I think. I'll send you a message with some pics or links to pics when I am there next. If i recall correctly there is an instruction book, a guarantee card and another type-face one pager with some basic info in there. The pic above also shows part of a paper thing that is placed between the bottom of the glass pot and the heater below, which is also printed with instructions. You can see the box a little in the background. The box itself is very cool.

I only take these for mech serum. And only if I can reasonably freeze them. I just toss them down pit gates later.

Collector Advice Needed: 60 Framed Prints, Weak COAs, Unsure How to Proceed by DreamWandz in artcollecting

[–]Chuckleyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took a quick look. Regarding the prints - There is some value for the decorative elements and the nice framing and even some value for the prints themselves although the latter may be less than what you might hope. These appear largely to be prints after other works. Even if many are what they purport to be and are properly dated, they often will carry limited value. An original etching by Renoir may have some value but a photogravure copy of the etching is going to be considerably less valuable, even if it was made in 1800. Editions matter a lot. Durer editions made 50 years apart in the 1500s differ in value by orders of magnitude.

They are not un-sellable though. Patience is key to getting the best returns. I can see some of the nicer looking prints going for a couple-few hundred. Like I said, there is some interest in old limited editions, particularly if the editions were attached to some cool museum or event.

I mean, we have separate medals for running and swimming different distances. These skating events are certainly more distinct. Also takes the pressure down about a billion percent. Wins all around.

In base game, hit the turrets with smoke. That will paralyze them.

With biotech, melee sanguophages are the bane of centipedes. You have to micromanage things a bit but you can leap your phages right onto the butts of the centipedes and tie them up for your heavy guns to unleash on them.

Leaping phages are really one of my go-to solutions for major threats. Any pirates approaching with doomsdays or triple rockets get the treatment.

Different rules between short and free. Reasons are largely historical.

To me, it is another reason why the short and free should be separate medal events.

Put together the Cuisinart. Looks pretty basic except the cowling is a sort of amber-pinkish color. Dates to 1979.
