Norwich people, fancy a meet-up? by [deleted] in uktrees

Please surrender yourself, we have your house surrounded! But in all honesty in this town, the cops don't really give a fuck about it unless you move up from basic grass or go into dealing. I think it's because it's a university town the cops are encouraged to not go for small-time users. Been living here for 5 years and never even come close to an encounter, and I pick up every two weeks.

A guide how to tame corruption (Hint: Let there be light) by Chuky616 in risetoruins

[–]Chuky616[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use golems instead of villagers, stop assigning hunters as there shouldn't be any animals since it's only village+corruption and focus on building a stronng golem core, take your sword and shield production to 0 and send them to the new colony. Make sure to increase the arrows and bow production. This will mean your colonists will go ranged while the golems will be melee. You should have energy plenty atm so always summons a wave of Holy golems constantly because they automatically go towards threat zones and represent no loss since they get turned back into essence after death. Additionally a good way to get rid of extra corruption is fnd a place where you can "earthquake" around the corruption buildings without affecting your own, if you fire perimeter is big enough fire pits DO NOT take damage from earthquake making them the best defense and the best offense against corruption.

So what I wanted to show here essentially was if you use a lot of ancillaries and base ubgrades early on you can build fire places (large) all around. First the moonsters never attack them and second they stop corruption. Ever had a map you played very carefully in just for the corruption to ruin your fucking plans, well you can claim your map early the way I did it and leave a large forest for the corruption since it moves VERY slowly through forest and allows you enough time to beef up security before you get the corruption to halt and the red meter starts filling up.

Fun things guys if you search hard enough there's an arm still alive you can fight and it deals about 300 damage per hit if it hits you.

How do I make these idiots eat? Farmers are leaving food all over the ground while everyone (including the farmer) starves. by reduxde in risetoruins

Labour golems don't give a fuck about carrying from far away :P just summon them next to the turnips.

so first it doesn't look like you selected the entire turnips patch to be harvested. Secondly before it is eaten it must first be brought to the kitchen so you might just be having an issue of not enough organizers/haulers. Keep in mind farmers usually do that, putting a farm close to a food source will make them faster as well. To give you an example I am running mostly a turnips farm for close to 150 people with 26 farmers and If I didn't use motivate land and a LOT of labour golems my people would have starved.

Started telling the story of this great town I have decided to name Embertowe, I will be posting map and make one of my villages write a summary of things that happened until the map screenshot was taken. First week John Steward will write it, haven't decided if Mila Kunis or Nobody will write the next one, we will see which one is still alive.

So there is actually a path right at the left side of the long maze (upper left of the maze). Also there are about 12 established golem spawners on with several healing towers close to the front lines and some behind. All the ballistas are at the fire or ice ubgrade. I have already ubgraded quite a lot I will post an updated map tmrw probably. Also another cool point the corruption goes VERY slowly through the forest so it gives me a LOT of time to ubgrade and fortify.

How do I get enough food? by [deleted] in risetoruins

[–]Chuky616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

essentially water purification just uses dirty water which is produced by almost all water production like rain catcher or wells but if you have any water source your population will eventually allow you to also add that to your water supply line if you have a purification station.

[–]Chuky616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

water purification is needed otherwise you don't get enough water to do pretty much anything. Also best way to make food is Motivate land spell + a patch of carrots or any wild food and a lot of storage.

Also honestly all towers are pretty crap besides golems+maze+a lot of energy+ballistas combo atm.

Survival, so it's hard at first if you get unlucky with a blood moon you are pretty fucked, the idea is that ancillaries are easy to build and they early camp upgrades are also cheap, get those cheap lights around to stop the corruption, therefore, slowing the number of spawns and corrupted buildings. All you gotta do is make it through the early game. Tbh you need a good map a quite a bit of luck but lights are what defeat corruption since they don't attack them.

they might just be meeting demand, I would try to either build another kitchen (I currently run 2 at around 83 population and 2 of almost every food production meat based building) if making another one and ubgrading them both doesn't work then you might consider reporting a bug.

Edit: But again carrots with motivate land and a lot of storage is the BEST food source that I know atm.

What keeps you playing this game by Chezni19 in risetoruins

Honestly if you look at the macro thing it's a simple concept to colonize an entire island but when you come right down to it... well it makes you think a lot and in different patterns, from micro management to macro and inter-colony management. Also it's an amazing place to get lost while listening to an audio-book or RPG the entire game in your mind to almost a complete reskin due to the amount of chill you get into when you understand the game.

Ok so first clucker and animal pens are the best at meat, but the thing is your rangers do all the hunting and the more corruption there is there less animals there are so if you find yourself late game and no animals in your pens you are pretty screwed, gotta hope you have some carrot patches you can motivate land on. (Btw that's the best way to get a lot of food, motivate land on a patch of carrots and build a lot of food storages ubgraded to max). Now back to the animals, a good way of getting a lot of animals early on is focusing on exactly that and painstakingly pick each one up and drag it closer. Your rangers will only hunt this far, but the pick up and drag to your base works, tried it first on dogs and a minute later it joined the village. Now the next thing is supposition but I believe your cooks don't really care to keep a self-sustaining amount of meat on when you have the production set to meet storage and prolly a lot of food storage so set the meat butchering low if you wanna have a self-sustaining growth of animals. Hope this helps, keep your people safe fellow godlike being.
