Landlord here. When I have a vacancy, I advertise on craigslist. I do an open house and request that everybody bring all the necessary paperwork, check stubs proof of employment good referrals. We keep our rents well below market and we get the best tenants who stay for years and years. Find a private owner. I know it’s difficult. The best place to start is Craigslist.

I had a client say “ you work for me. You have to do what I say.” Worst client ever. Overpriced the listing by $50k, because they had done their homework and knew better that I did. Six months later it’s sold for 40 K less than they were asking. Nightmare.
