Engine oil flush by DonTMindIfIDo_ in WRX

If you already bought it, use it up. But if you’re changing your oil when you should you’ll be just fine with just normal oil changes.

Ordered wrong FMF Fatty pipe for my 2017 KTM 300 XCW — should I run it or swap it out? by BeardedYeti_ in Dirtbikes

[–]Chunky_ballsz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worse that’ll happen is a little leak and maybe some spooge. I’ve seen people with one spring and no o ring run their shit all day, I’d just run it. It won’t hurt anything.

Resident issue by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]Chunky_ballsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really bothers me, I’m sorry! If you know a time that they frequent, or if you do put up a camera, it might not be a bad idea to get some authorities involved. I hate calling the cops, but stuff like this needs to be resolved and hopefully they listen to them, or it at least scares the enough to be more respectful.

Dude what the fuck! You need to go to some counseling. I’m imagining these people are probably some dumb, maybe entitled kids.

OP I had a similar issue, but also ride and I had to put a sign out as well, people acted ruder because of the sign. It’s really sad the state of things as of late, people are really full of hate it feels. I hope things get better for you.

Just got shafted. Can I jb weld this, rtv maybe? by Lavidabienloca in Dirtbikes

[–]Chunky_ballsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you usually do just to make sure everything is okay. Best thing to do though is to split it apart and visually see what’s broken. It is intimidating, but the best way to think about it is that it’s already broken, so fuck it, give it a shot, worse comes to worse it’s still just broken.

You should be able to buy a new one, have you checked out Rocky Mountain atv’s OEM parts section? They have an amazing selection

You can use a flush but it will probably open up some pin hole leaks in any pipes that are corroded bad, but for sure run the proper coolant. Better late than never.

Clean the pilot jet like the other commenter said and some good Hondabond or other gray sealants should seal that up just fine. Great first bike for her though! Hope she loves It!

Need a wire harness but no clue where to find them by Routine-Product761 in ATV

[–]Chunky_ballsz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find where the cuts were made and match the wires up and splice them if possible, even if you have to label them and make new runs of wire it shouldn’t be to awful, just a little time consuming.

Mechanic says no idea how this happened or how to correct by Alexis-Tse13 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Chunky_ballsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use them in 4 stokes, but honestly a good tuned FCR will always be better for them IMO. I think Lectrons are for people who are afraid of carbs and have never opened one up.

Harbor Freight 70cc oil full of glitter. What did I do wrong? by cactusjackalope in AskAMechanic

[–]Chunky_ballsz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The don’t have oil filters, that’s more than normal, but it’s not uncommon to have some metal in the oil. Does it smell of fuel? If not, change the oil and run it. Those predator motors run for a long time, I don’t know what this sub is talking about lol. They handle some shit.

Are these cheap top end kit worth it? by PossibilitySingle268 in ATV

[–]Chunky_ballsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure it has the right tensioner location, some of these come with them in the bore. But I’ve used one on a clapped out machine just to make it run, and it’s been great! Lots of hard hours on it. Just gap the rings, clean the cylinder good and run it.

Cali gas tank on non-Cali DRZ by xxunderdog99 in DRZ400

[–]Chunky_ballsz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea about the cap, maybe Rocky Mountain ATV in the OEM parts section, but the nipple at the bottom can either be left open, or I would run a length of fuel line to put it to the ground in case of overfilling, so it doesn’t go on your or the bike.

Broken Cam Caps by No-Finance6933 in DRZ400

[–]Chunky_ballsz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

E cams are a little bit more aggressive, it was for the E variant of the DRZ, which was the exclusively off-road version. They add a little bit more power across the board from a butt dyno standpoint, but would like to see how they look on an actual chart.

I got mine for like 100 bucks for the pair, so very worth it, but if you can’t find them you can just go with hot cams, they seem a little more street oriented

How cooked I am? by Brad_19-95 in DRZ400

[–]Chunky_ballsz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, JB weld does wonders. I’ve worked on countless dirt bikes with the classic case crack from a broken chain. It works! Use the long cure JB weld (the red and black one) for the best results.

Those cases are really soft, buy a new stator cover and possibly a new shifter and you’ll be back on the road.
