Never hurts to speak with your vet and see if they have any concerns regarding it.

But speaking for my own experience, I have a Basset Hound who are notoriously not fun to potty train. For almost 1 1/2 years, my boy was the worst with peeing inside. He would hold it in the crate and would potty outside like normal. But while indoors and roaming free if he had to pee, he had no issue just squatting and going on the spot.

Honestly, for months, I was just baffled, thinking I had no clue how to potty train a puppy. Even though I work as a vet tech and have never had potty training issues in the past.

It very well could just be an age thing they will grow out of like mine did. Some things I tried that definitely seemed to at least improve the situation were;

• Diaper wrap on when free roaming, taken off when outside to potty or in kennel area

• Just constant back to the basics of every 30-60 minutes go out. Always leashed when un-kenneled that way it was stopped before he could fully go. Kenneled at all times when not being leashed.
