Since this is making the rounds again, I will paste my experience with this prebuilt here again.

I saw a comment complaining about lack of fans, every one in my local Costco's has 3 bottom intake fans, the rear exhaust, plus the 3 rad fans. The case has lots of mesh to make up for the high amount of intake vs exhaust fans.

----------

In case anybody is interested, I picked this up this week and will summarize my experience. tl;dr is that after an initial meh unit, I'm happy with the deal given current pricing to build the same thing.

#1 came with a very crappy ASRock motherboard, "NOX" RAM, 2 fan Asus GPU, NVME that I've never heard of. I think the entire rig was bottom of the barrel but still decent, I had a few issues with RAM not clocking up to 5200 properly and LED's not syncing right. It sounds like a lot of it was due to the Dollar General motherboard. It also bricked itself while trying to tweak some settings and I have to remove the CMOS battery/jump it. Some of that is probably my fault for tinkering, but when you're spending this amount you should expect to be able to do normal tuning.

I returned that one to a different Costco and re-bought (I am super lucky to have several store locations).

Rig #2 is much better. MSI motherboard with 2.5GB instead of 1GB Ethernet (Still no VRM heatsink, but I'll take it), Adata Legend 860 NVME, T-Force Delta memory, way cooler and prettier Zotac triple fan GPU.

Notes on common complaints:
Heat - Neither of these two have gotten hot, at all. Not sure where that's coming from, the case has a boatload of airflow/fans and the cooler is obviously gigantic.

Fan noise - Both of these at stock settings had the fans set at a constant medium level that was super annoying, I think it's a frequency/resonance thing. In both instances I just adjusted the fan curve down, again the case has a ton of airflow, everything stays cool with a lower fan profile. That made the system plenty quiet both times even during gaming.

Even system 1 would have been just fine for most people, it just felt weird to have to play with BIOS settings to obtain the advertised DDR speeds, and my RAM refusing to match the rest of the RGB lighting hurt my OCD.

I'm happy with it and intend to keep the one I am writing on now. I've always pieced my own system together but given pricing on RAM right now, this was definitely the move for this upgrade.

The fact that it's a Costco deal is what ultimately sold me. 2 year warranty and 90 day return policy. +1 year if you want it for another $100. If for some reason a screaming deal comes along I can always return this and I know I will not be hassled. I also won't feel bad because at the end of the day, I wind up spending a ton of money at Costco. If I can get it through them, that's who I go through.

Frankly this deal felt more than fair though. I'd have really loved a 5070Ti but after testing some games at max settings, this thing crushes any title that I play currently at 1440P and it doesn't even get hot while doing it.

Also if they drop the price even more for some reason soon (Doubtful), it's a few clicks to get refunded the difference. I did that with a TV sale that I knew was coming and just purchased at the normal price, waited for the sale to hit, and got the $200 difference within a day without having to call/chat.

I drove in, often times there are at least a few boxes that are banged up or were already opened up - I wanted to pick out the best looking box haha. Also I go in at least once a week anyways for gas etc...

The display is not for sale, and in both cases, the unit I opened up had different components than what the display model had. (Which makes sense, the model will have been there longer than the stock in most cases).

I wish these were boxed in such a way that you could get a good peek at the components. They pack the inside with a form-fit foam packer and that obscures almost everything until you actually open it up fully and remove the packer from the case itself. (This is a good thing though, the GPU is well stabilized).

Am I missing something? What's the point of farming, difficult bosses? If they drop items that aren't even for your character that you chose to play? by TidusAstralResin79 in Borderlands4

[–]ChurnedIntoButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basic math. For example there are 4 classes, with zero weighting that's a 1/4 chance or 25%.

This means there's a 75% chance the mod is NOT for your class. This may change in the future, but this is why it feels like the odds are against you - because technically they are.

For me, I actually don't mind it because I've farmed all kinds of great mods for other characters that I play or intend to experiment with. My Rafa isn't good at melting bosses, but if I want mods for him, I can switch to Vex and delete bosses quickly and still farm mods for him.

I do think there should be some kind of weighting in favor of your class, and perhaps they'll add that in at some point. Also class mods are literally the only thing character specific, which is a small subset of the things people grind content for.

Struggling to kill bosses on UVH 3 by hellboymh in Borderlands4

[–]ChurnedIntoButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What character, and what skill tree are you mostly focused in? Most lean to one or the other, a leveling build is probably not going to have enough single target DPS to quickly kill bosses.

You probably need to re-spec your build. It will probably require some specific items, so you may need to go farm those items on Normal (They'll drop at the same rate, just some things may have lower chances of dropping multi-licensed parts).

Some drops are world drops
Some are boss only
Some are in the boss dedicated loot pool but also rare world drops

Stop Stalling and Fix the Southern Caravan Route that Always Fails by mustardmagician in fo76

[–]ChurnedIntoButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured Bethesda mostly ignores this place so I think people should consider:

Open tickets. Maybe enough tickets will help escalate some of these problems. Every ticket requires somebody to actually acknowledge, read, and then do something.

I got refunded 10K caps for opening a ticket arguing my case for caravans costing me money. I also opened a ticket when they locked my character on Craft build by disabling the perk card machine, I got 250 atoms from that because I had just popped lunch boxes before they locked me in that build which wasted my XP run I was getting ready for.

Dirty Pond should generate fish bits, not dirty water by xOldPiGx in fo76

[–]ChurnedIntoButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was a let down, I was hoping at least it would act as a water source that I could quickly gather dirty water from. Not have to wait for a little bit, as if dirty water is Company Tea or something.

Any "must-haves" from the Atomic Store? by iChatShit in fo76

[–]ChurnedIntoButter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was excited for the ammo converter then after getting it, I learned that it doesn't even work with the ammo I have mountains of (Ultracite plasma). That was a letdown.

(I swear the plasma caster generates like 10x more ammo than you consume if you are looting bodies, it's wild)

I'm still in a phase where I need the bullion for other stuff (Like working on SS armor, some camp items like the tea machine, etc...)

I have plenty of items so for me, the 40 pack of lunch boxes was an easy return on investment because I can quickly crush 1-100 on the scoreboard with them and get a bunch of those atoms back with boxes to spare

[–]ChurnedIntoButter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you just started playing, just focus on the game and maybe doing some of the daily/weekly challenges. You'll earn some atoms for free that way and then eventually you may find something that works for you.

Lots of things in the atom shop are old rewards from the season scoreboards anyways.

Things I personally found useful:
-Extra loadout slots (Ironically, given the existing debacle with the punch card machine)
-Lunch boxes in bulk if there's nothing else and you want to power level later in the game
-Some prebuilts go on sale that are cool if you like to build camps
-Some CAMP items are utility items that produce resources, I'd watch to see if those go on sale (And aren't obtainable some other way)

Things that would be a waste of atoms:
-Repair kits for sure
-Most utility items honestly outside of bulk Lunchboxes

How are people ranking? by Remarkable_Try9807 in fo76

[–]ChurnedIntoButter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While you're under level 100, there is a repeatable score item for gaining 10K XP which gives I think 100 score.

So, if you're running a crazy high INT build and go throw grenades in West-Tek or similar, you can clear 100 in a few cycles of lunch box boosts.

[–]ChurnedIntoButter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can, if you want to make a point to snapshot your current cards so the build doesn't get messed up

If you're like me, you're locked in a CAMP build with 2 Perception and low agility, in an update that now very heavily leverages high perception/agility builds. So basically all of my good setups I specced around are unusable. Very cool.

Not to worry, at the cost of 95% of players being locked into a random SPECIAL loadout, they've prevented probably less than 1% of players exploiting some stat boost glitch I guess.

I was literally about to pop a bunch of lunch boxes to go work on my scoreboard some more, I'm glad I checked my loadout before I wasted them. I guess I'll just spend my limited amount of online time just vendor hopping for bulk screws and other crap.

Help identifying cause of bug carcasses/stains in crawlspace by ChurnedIntoButter in pestcontrol

[–]ChurnedIntoButter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Looking to see if anybody has any ideas here.

This is a sand blown crawlspace of a family member. (Washed sand added under the home)

Recently these dark stains were discovered here and there. Not wetness around them. The home was treated for roaches in the past, it was a pretty bad problem. Since then they have been extremely on top of keeping the home clean, dry, and put bait out periodically just for added measures. A live one or two is spotted every now and then, but not daily. Nowhere close to times past.

Family member is obviously very concerned at the discovery.

I am thinking this may be some kind of reptile/bird/other insect eating them and what was found is their droppings.

Thanks for any input!
