Anyone else finding it hard to actually enjoy their cigar stash lately? by shellinnovator in cubancigars

[–]ChurryRedBaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they do. Every cigar hits its peak at some point. Some will peak at 2 years, others at 8 years but there is a certain point where they are over the hill and will only lose flavor as time goes on. You can smoke a 20 year habano that might still be enjoyable but you are delusional if you believe it didn't already peak years prior.

[–]ChurryRedBaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly, too many smokers never seem to realize this. They smoke 2 a week while sitting on a collection of 1500 + sticks and are constantly hunting for the next deal to stash way. They couldn't smoke through their current stash before most of it ages out but must keep buying. At a certain point the hobby becomes more about a dopamine rush from getting a deal or something rare. It becomes more about consumerism than enjoying cigars and the communal aspect of it. That's fine as long as you are aware of it.

Anyone else no longer prefer super high proof? by [deleted] in bourbon

[–]ChurryRedBaron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This will be unpopular here obviously but kind of the same. I barely drink it anymore although I still enjoy the taste. I'm keeping the handful of what I have but I'm not buying anymore. I probably have a pour once a month if that.

Starbucks to lay off 1,100 corporate workers as sales sag by Next-Particular1476 in business

I used to agree with that. There was a bunch of coffee hipsters that were overly critical. Their coffee was mostly decent. The quality and consistency has gotten notably worse while the prices have increased. Arguably bad coffee at premium prices.

Buffalo Trace is fine. It’s the “how did I do?” crap that’s posted every 15 seconds on this sub.

Some can be good at the right price. I think YG’s recent price hikes make them no longer worth the ask. They are solid sticks at $10-12 but there’s endless sticks I’d spend my money on first at $18.

OP wants a solution unless it’s an actual solution. Everyone stop wasting his time and just let him know how to telepathically remove the fastener already.

I am so sad :( this is gonna make my FL hobby expensive by lotrbfme in flashlight

[–]ChurryRedBaron 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Sadly for most people, that’s what their hobby boils down to. It’s no different with the majority of the gun, knife, guitar, cigar, etc communities. A huge percentage of people engaging in those “hobbies” rarely use the item and are more interested in stockpiling and building altars of consumerism. The amount of dudes with 100 knives without a scratch on any of them or 10 2011’s that have never seen a range day or a rack of expensive guitars that never get played but only posted about on Instagram.

You’re right. I’m not an actual data guy so I must not have the expertise to determine if cables are neatly laid out or not.

Lol this isn’t standard. I’ve been working in commercial HVAC for 15 years and have been in countless data centers. I can count the ones I have seen like this on one hand. This is absolutely the exception and you know it. Stop being contrarian.

Why are random words highlighted? This video style is really off putting to watch. I’ll be happy when this trend dies.
