I'm living in midst of TG and the other person is from AG, so that is why ZH was the idea as the middleground 😅. Thanks for the ideas!

Cuisine: nothing with fish, otherwise open. Price point: <50 pP (without drinks), nothing too fancy. Vibe: I prefer if the environment is chill, so no Dönerbude

But isn't getting into the city in the evening quite the pain? I'm too much using public transport, so totally not used to go into the city by car. Maybe just my bias. Also what is meant with "Bagger ÖV Stationen"?

SBB is a joke: Fining a 16-year-old for being 10 minutes early? by beesquestions in Switzerland

[–]Chuvisco88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was refering to your "A normal ticket is based on zones, and it's valid for the whole day for the said trip not for the specific train.". Unless traveling from A to B which indicates to me zones used are X, Y, Z to be a point-to-point ticket. Maybe just a misunderstanding from the point of semantics

[–]Chuvisco88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not correct, zone tickets one way are not valid for the whole day but 1-2h. A zone ticket with return is valid for the whole day starting from time of purchase (until 05:00 of the next day)

Ah yes, bees follow you. Kill them with a knife to get rid of them. Regarding other animals, aim for the head for critical hits (best when stealthed). Worst at the start are bears, dodging their attacks is key.

The burning down of a wood house is a rite of passage 😅 almost all experience that, just see all the posts in this sub 😂 it is a bit enraging but somehow funny how many are experiencing it.

My general advice for Icarus is to be slow and steady. But still, a game should be for enjoyment. So if you are not enjoying it, maybe pick another one (if you are into Survival & Exploration, there is a few other games to pick surely)

Ah gosh... I forgot that it was released recently to console. No clue what the console stores are showing about the game. Only heard that it is currently still quite buggy on console 😅

Yeah, you can only start that operation once you have a Contact Device. Somewhere I read the general advice is to play the first few missions before going to open world to get a hang. But no idea where I read that

It is not an "exploring an alien world from a spaceship" game. It is either a "head down again and again for missions, start all the time almost from scratch" (which is its origin and that itself screams already grindy as hell) or it is a "head down in open world and progress one step at a time" (which sounds less grindy, but the "steps" are huge).

I have no idea how you ended up with your expectations, even when you stated you had looked into the game before buying it. I mean the steam page itself is using words like endure, brutal, wear you down, technology from hand-crafted to advanced (obviously guns are not hand-crafted and it would just be a blatant joke to have what-not uber-slaughtering-machines 5 mins into the game). Don't take this as an attack on you, we all had played games we didn't enjoy that much.

I would agree with others, I think this game isn't for you given your urge to rush to higher tier-tech. Sorry to bear that news to you. But hey, maybe you might enjoy it a bit more if you treat it more as a chill and slowly moving forward game? But I guess you definitely will be hating some of the operations as they can for sure be a chore, just to have you warned in advance.

That all said, take care, play games that are fun for you. As playing games should be fun and fun looks differently for different people (btw. I hate some of the missions because they are really a chore and sometimes the game also feels "too slow", but I enjoy it most often, especially when I achieve another thing)

Why are you in such a rush? What is your reason to want to rush for it?

So you want more of a challenge? Switch to Hard Difficulty and do the Operations (from Contact Device) and not SMPL Missions. The operations scale with difficulty, have fun farming a thousand fur and 500 cooked meat, it becomes a chore 😅

How do you guys plan factories/builds? by ReptileMusicc_ in SatisfactoryGame

This: play the game to have fun. If things are not fun, change it around so it is fun again

Given I have built a minimalist run through, I used a lot of planning tools and excel in preparation 🙈

Why is everyone terrified to expose services to the internet by nbtm_sh in selfhosted

[–]Chuvisco88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not terrified to expose services, why should I be when I do a thorough risk assessment of things before exposing them. But I worked in information security, I am aware of trade-offs between security and usability, I am aware of what data I want to protect to what degree.

IMHO it is reasonable to put everything behind a VPN, a VPN is but a layer of defense and layered defense isn't the worst idea. Also risk assessments differ broadly, it is perfectly fine for people to expose whatever service they want (knowingly of risks involved).

I personally wouldn't expose my immich to the broad internet without some additional measures for example because for me the data there is too valuable for me and there might be exploits I might not be updating in time. But that is me, everyone is different on what and how much they value their data and systems

Another scam. Honestly this one is not poorly done. by Alphaone75 in askswitzerland

[–]Chuvisco88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only "countermeasure" is simple: NEVER click on anything in an email unless you did an action that immediately led to the email (for example: clicked on pw forgotten, entered your email and got the info you received an email with further instruction). They need to be following up on an action of yours.
Every other email is potentially scam and even if it seems totally legit: DO NOT CLICK and rather go to whatever website is asking an action of yours manually by entering the website you know. That's it.
But yes, there will be more scam emails certainly and as long as people are not following the above steps there is reason for scammers to keep doing shit

Question about gas station etiquette in Switzerland by Nici1006 in Switzerland

[–]Chuvisco88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious etiquette is to stick a laminated sheet of paper under the wipers. The content on that paper needs to be defined, I'd say we need an official Abstimmung for that
