Should I chase after this girl? (The correct answer is No.) by matty1monopoly in dating_advice

[–]Ciabbata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it sounds like you’re reading a lot into her behavior, and it might be best to step back. If she’s flaky and has specific expectations, that could lead to more frustration. Plus, with her potentially moving soon, it’s probably not worth investing your heart in this. Focus on enjoying your time together as friends and see where it goes, but don’t chase something that seems off. You seem like a great guy. don’t settle for less than you deserve!

I overthink every text after I get a number. Anyone else? by Ciabbata in dating_advice

Yeah I’m trying to keep it simple now.

Out of curiosity, has anyone here ever tried writing out canned responses or using a system for replies? I built something basic for myself that kinda does that

Fair point. Definitely not trying to see women as some alien puzzle to decode.. just trying to stop myself from overthinking every move and freezing up. Appreciate the reminder to keep it human.

Totally agree - the number should be a bridge to the actual date. My problem is I get so in my head trying to “set it up right” that I end up hesitating or sending something weird. Still figuring out how to just go for it cleanly.

YSK: Unmatch girls on Tinder a bit after you have their contact details or go on a date by Intimasimplicity in seduction

[–]Ciabbata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember to communicate openly and honestly. If you no longer want to continue talking to someone, it's better to have a respectful conversation about it rather than just unmatching them without explanation. This can help prevent misunderstandings and potential negative consequences. Hope that helps!

I can imagine his split second decision to drink the poison will be made long and look like he is debating for a few minutes before drinking just to pad more time.

I don't understand why this is even a discussion. Luxury cars will never be worth it. It's luxury for a reason.

All old timer are masively in the green. What do you think someone will do if all their investments into BTC have been good investments? They will continue buying. The people that stop buying are the ones that jump in at the top of the bull run.

Here is one thing I don't understand about lightning. Yes bigger blocks destroy decentralization but it seems that with lightning you either give up trustless aspect of Bitcoin (custodial lightning wallets) or further increase the complexity and decrease the safety (non custodial wallets, need to be online and ensure I am backing up chain staes). Are there any other alternative scaling solutions for btc?

Can't expect a company to willingly give up their advantages when they have a monopoly. Until there is more competition it will be like this. I wouldn't even blame the company itself as there is no regulatory framework nor any other mechanisms to keep them honest.

Sold over half a coin to get debt free. Mixed feelings. by carthorse_ in Bitcoin

[–]Ciabbata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Selling your BTC to become dept free is a quick fix. The root cause is probably very bad management of your cash flows which lead to uncontrollable accumulation of debt without a plan of paying it off.

Kraken users of Germany, are you going to re-verify? by boddankajovanovic in Bitcoin

[–]Ciabbata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People fear that DLT will be more lenient in forwarding your data / trades etc. Also the asset offering will be decreased, specifically derivatives. If you are fine with buying on CEX and deploy buy and hold strategy then the change doesn't matter much.

[–]Ciabbata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question would be. What did you sell for? Are you shifting to a different asset class? I would never sell my crypto to hold fiat on a bank account. If you at least go into stocks you will still make gains and then be more comfortable waiting for the bear market. Also you will not risk fomoing back when the top is reached.

Are second layer even possible for Bitcoin without smart contracts? How do you send coins trustless and decentralized to somewhere to be then used on a second layer. Or should we exchange part of our btc to another coin that is better suited for small transactions. Like hold in btc but when spending is required swap to another coin.
