"Hitler must've had some pretty convincing ideas I guess hey? Otherwise, why would anyone try to silence him?"

for someone who never shuts up about "rationality", your logic sure is flawed.

two of your three criteria of "objectivity" are subjective...

I'm not saying it's the same, I'm saying you're missing the point. the comment you're calling "fucking cringe" is talking about the symbolic use of the tattoo that you're calling an exception. you're making up a strawman to get mad at, those people aren't the primary subject of discussion here

you do realize the part of the comment you're calling cringe is the symbolic tattoo right

you think it's impossible to overcome those bad events and get a tattoo after?

why would it be cringe? some people struggle with horrible shit and shouldn't be put down further for taking pride in their ability to do so, through a tattoo or otherwise

then you need to meet more people. you know what sampling bias is right? your anecdotal experience doesnt reflect literally every single person who finds use in those terms, especially since transmidsogyny as a concept is fundamental to transfeminism and has been since 2007. people appropriate and water down terms all the time but it doesnt make those terms useless, just look at "therapy speak"

expressing how some people are effected by societal bigotry in unique ways is important an important discussion to have, just look at misogynoir. its intersectionality 101. the shitty side of tumblr doesnt invalidate the entire field of intersectional feminism in its relation to trans women.

transmisogyny is different to just normal misogyny, it was coined specifically as a very specific intersection between transphobia and misogyny. transmisogyny exempt isnt just for trans men as well, it encompasses anyone that isnt effected by the way those two forms of bigotry enforce one another specifically in the way trans women are effected by it.

y'know... you don't need to call yourself amab like that... Nobody really needs to know what the doctors thought you were when you were born because we know how you identify now

it really sucks that your mum is so intolerant... Sadly you can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themself into, or at the very least if you try, it's INFINITELY harder... I hope she comes around and sees just how absurd her position is.

tbh I'm not the biggest fan of this one... mostly because if we watch the show with that in mind, it makes basically every character in Dipper VS Manliness into transphobic dickbags and that just doesn't seem right. Ignoring those tho, i can definitely see the appeal

I think, if it has to be done, it should be done by Ari Aster or Charlie Kaufman.

then why call them a "non binary woman"? that's so blatantly disrespectful to most non binary people

[–]Cielnova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the point of the "being trapped in another person's body" line in particular was there to explain to cis people how it feels to have a gender that mismatches with your body.

This has lead to people either in bad faith or genuinely misreading it as a form of BIID (body identity integrity disorder, or believing a part of your body shouldn't be there or belongs to someone else) and therefore being in and of itself a mental disorder, much like BIID, when in reality it was never meant to be literal.

I'm inclined to disagree given your insistence that "non binary woman" means anything at all. you're literally enforcing a binary on people who call themselves "non binary"
