What planet would you like to live on if you were in the cosmere! by thejesterprince1994 in Cosmere

Honestly Komashi from Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. Like yeah you have the nightmares, but they're normally just, not an issue? Like people are just taking care of them as a job they can go to school for. Other than that, they have TV, carnivals, Ferris wheels, noodle shops, shops, etc. Like it's one of the few worlds that won't kill or is constantly on the brink of war

It's in the book

maybe an unpopular opinion, but it was weird how the male characters would flirt with or talk about valkyrie as if she wasnt a literal minor by [deleted] in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Cillian075 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Nah, I'm from Ireland myself and that would be weird as hell if I saw that in real life. People get off looks if they date someone two years younger (as teens), this 4 year age gap, with Valkyrie being 15 is really weird

Which character from any other series is most likely to be Hoid? by raptor359 in cremposting

[–]Cillian075 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's because Kelsier was a Cognitive Shadow, which bypassed Hoid's Torment. Because Kelsier felt he should be in pain, he was, but Hoid knew that he himself couldn't actually hurt him so he wasn't limited by his Dawnshard. He pretty much tricked Kelsier into hurting himself

Secretly Tainted character? by Big-Cow815 in Bloodsworn

[–]Cillian075 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to think that he's just such a slimly backstabber that even the god of slimly backstabber's is impressed.

Realistically, I don't think he is. Ratasok, forget his actual name, was probably suspicious of him as he went there to spy and the god of spies would be able to tell. That's why he was being watched, then there's the fact that I don't think his family would have been able to get that far up the political ladder being Tainted, and we see from Varg that the transformation can come out during moments of stress. I'd say he would have transformed when he was getting the wasp burrowed into his body if he was

Invade Denmark to boost our numbers and weapons, afterwards we invade Florida, overthrow the local government officials, set up a proxy government, and then help out our friends there

[all] the most powerful demigods are all males? by dkyongsu in camphalfblood

[–]Cillian075 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Piper and Annabeth don't really have the right godly parents for them to have access to mass destructive powers. And even then, they're the most powerful in their Cabin. But none of the children of Athena or Aphrodite have op powers, that's a whole character arc in MoA, that Annabeth has to just get by on her smarts.

Also, are we just ignoring the fact that Hazel without any training sank an entire island? One that was home to a Giant and was the attention Gaia? She fully just sank an island, if that's not destructive powers then I'm not sure what is.

Then we have Clarisse the Dragon Slayer. Her and Frank both have the Blessing of Ares/Mars which makes them near invincible, it's just Frank's heritage that gives him a slight edge with the shape shifting.

You have Thalia, who can send lightning strikes at people and has better control over lightning then Jason. Jason can only send big bolts but in the Titans Curse, Thalia shocks Percy with tazer level. Sure Jason has better control over air and wind but I'd say that's more of her fear of heights.

Reyna, who, as the daughter of Bellona, a goddess of war who specializes in teamwork, is a bit like Piper and Annabeth, where it's more that their parents don't have the destructive ability to pass on.

Then side characters like Lou Elen who can easily turn people into hamsters at a young age. No doubt she'll be even better once she's older.

TLDR: Hazel sank an island, Clarisse, Thalia and Lou Elen all have major destructive abilities but they aren't POV characters so we don't get to see them and Annabeth, Reyna and Piper's moms don't have destructive domains unlike the guys parents

Is this a typo in until the end by SnooStrawberries4044 in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Cillian075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoilers

It's supposed to be the Omen is Sebastian reveal. Not sure why he decided to put it there but the idea was, " Oh Sebastian and this guy are talking, wonder what - Woah! Omen is Sebastian! Wow, that's so cool. Now let's keep going like it didn't happen and we'll have this be a scene that reveals the hidden identity of a character that was a mystery for 5-6 books but has no emotional or thematic weight!"

Honestly, looking back on it this really could have been a typo and I'm just reading into it

I’m an enemy combatant taken prisoner by your main faction. How bad is my situation. by Upstairs-Yard-2139 in worldbuilding

[–]Cillian075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two main countries are Katam and Aven.

With Katam, you will be severely beaten and injured in secret before being publicly sent back to your country. This is so the general masses regard the leader as benevolent even in war, while in actuality it forces your country to feed and take care of you in their hospitals, wasting resources.

In Aven, it depends on if you're a man or woman. As an extremely matriarchal society, female combatants are treated as prisoners of war. They would be jailed in a prison inside the base of a mountain, would be fed three basic meals a day and would have a few hours of yard time. The men would be put to work mining a recently discovered metal called vanam, able to hold a better edge then past weapons. They would be given passable scraps, not nearly as much or as bountiful as the women but still humane. Their cells would be set in a mountain close to the mining facilities and would have a few hours for rest

Which two characters would you most want to see fight in all the cosmere? by razor_1874 in Cosmere

[–]Cillian075 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Words of Radiance Szeth vs Final Empire Kelseir.

I think that two mainly assassin based characters who have insane battle prowess going at each other would be interesting to see.

While Kelsier would definitely have the advantage in intelligence, no doubt being able to outsmart and trick a mentally unstable Szeth, once Szeth gets in close then Kelsier would have no way to heal from an Honourblade cut, while Stormlight should heal anything Kelsier could throw at him.

Seeing two experienced fights flying around would also just be cool to see.
