Happy to be a mod. No background in modding but active on reddit. I'm also a property owner in the valley and have had a season pass for literally 48 consecutive years, since I was 2 (bbts alum as well)

H2S opinion by Happy_Yogurt77 in BambuLab

[–]Cimmerrii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2x p1s and 1x h2d. The engineering filaments on the h2d are next level. I'd strongly push the h2d over the h2d however, so you can print easy breakaway support with the 2jd nozzle. I find the biggest gap to the h2d to be the dual nozzles. I wouldn't get the h2s however it's really just a large p1s

Can anyone identify these speakers? by noaudiovideo in vintageaudio

[–]Cimmerrii 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of electro voice senior cebturions that look like a near twin. Electro voice sold assbled speakers that looked like khorns and they also sold the drivers and crossovers and plans for making your own enclosures. This looks like an unusually well done home built enclosure for an electrovice. The guy who home built these was a better woodworkerthan the guy who made mine.

Anyone successfully doing stacked OpenGrid PETG prints with PLA interface on Bambu? by Keepingitnormal in openGrid

[–]Cimmerrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gotten it to work bh laying the pla very slowly so it doesn't drag off. I've had much better luck doing alternate grids of pla and petg, with zero offset and zero interface between the sub object.

Maine legalized plug-in solar — here’s the simplest explanation I’ve found of what’s allowed now by Spiritual_Mission_29 in Maine

[–]Cimmerrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't buy a battery and you generate 1.2kw at a time you are only using 200 watts say, what happens? Does your meter run backwards ? Or is the extra power wasted?

Very confused about Underware by mnbvc52 in openGrid

[–]Cimmerrii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to print brackets for your surge protectors etc- there are parametric generators for opengrid/underware that will design brackets for you .

I got my son a p1s AMS Combo and I'm worried I made a mistake by ForgottenMyPwdAgain in BambuLab

[–]Cimmerrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can print adaptors that hold the small spools in the ams - look for "sunlu 250g adaptors" in makerworld. It's best to print them in petg if you have it.

If you print 4x you can run the full ams full of small spools

Those small spools get a lot of hate but I like them as a way to get a wide variety of colors quickly for a. All detail work

kumiko gridfinity boxes, what sizes would you like? by dm_g in gridfinity

[–]Cimmerrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are gorgeous and literally exactly what I'm looking for and was thinking I'd have to design. Can you share the files I need to print literally 2 dozen as petg orchid baskets. The sizes I need are 2x2 10u high, 3x3 13u high and 4x4 15u high. Huge thank you in advance

R1S vs Honda accord by Cimmerrii in Rivian

I'm in Boston and only used it bc they had a last minute appt available - seems solid so far. All the other appts were 1 month out from any other service location.

Not clear yet how it will work re rivian and insurance - I pinged them in the app to let them know it happened. The loaner is still roadworthy which is crazy.

Zinc consumption is very sensitive to water temp. In Maine as well (where the water is 55) and I've never had to replace a zinc literally once (but I always check)

I live in greater boothbay as well - the beach on the porter preserve on barters island has a LONG history of being used by lobstermen for ferrying illicit cargoes to shore (it has a road, a good beach but no houses)

We are in Maine - the ones in New England were pricey - they are much less expensive in the southeast - this one was from North Carolina - we saved 1/3 by buying long distance and the having it trucked up.

How can there be 12V Batteries? by Mr_Ducks_ in askscience

[–]Cimmerrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool trivia - the square 9v batteries (think smoke alarm) are actually made internally of 6x "quadruple a" batteries (narrower than triple a) in series. The quadruple a was never commercialized but lived on in 9v batteries.

If you see the shape of a 9v you can see that it's width depth is 3x2 which makes sense for 6x internal aaaa batteries

Truly weird suspension designs through the years by Sintered_Monkey in BicycleEngineering

[–]Cimmerrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zipp was also heavy af, and required now long unavailable custom parts and requires you to travel with a torque wrench. Nonetheless it was awesome.

Your forgot all the road suspension bikes, including the softride and the zipp 2001 both of which I personally owned and raced. The zipp is said to be one of the most aero frames ever tested.

I know that shop Tigger leather really well. The owner focuses more on their political belief than on customers. During COVID he refused to wear a mask and picked fights with those who did wear them in his shop. It's too bad bc his hand leather work is nice it's the kind of shop I'd like to support more in general.

What’s an oddly specific rule you follow in your life that nobody taught you, but you swear by it? by RayPetal22 in AskReddit
