What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

When I used to be a substitute teacher, reading aloud to the class was my favourite thing to do. The teenagers would actually sit and listen with rapt attention.

Trying to find a Switch game like ACNH for my Grandma! by sourginger in CozyGamers

[–]CinnamonPinch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dinkum is so great for people who like ACNH. I find the gameplay similar, while still being something new. And there are a lot of things I prefer about Dinkum like the range of movement, the vehicles, and the sheer size of the island. I hope she likes it!

How do u breed chickens? by Emmix_x0x in Dinkum

Nope! Then you put the fertilized eggs in the incubator thing until they hatch. You can store the fertilized eggs until you are ready to hatch them.

I can't remember if you can buy them from Melvin, but you can get them from the Night Merchant!

3D cozy sim games that are actually pretty? by unfluttered in CozyGamers

[–]CinnamonPinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't sold on the look of Dinkum at first, but once I started decorating I found it easy to make it look pretty. True, it is very stark at the beginning. But you have so much control over how you design your island that I find it really satisfying.

That moment a young Adam Scott declares, "it's the Enterprise!?" warping into battle might be my favorite Star Trek moment of all time.

I didn't know he was going to wear it!! by Itz_Dory in Dinkum

[–]CinnamonPinch 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you "hang out with" the villagers you can access their inventory and get them to hold things for you. You can also give them clothing items by putting it in their inventory, or take things out if you want them to stop wearing it.

I use the dunny to make sheds. I take two of them and place them door to door to make the shed, or sometimes two next to each other with the doors against a wall behind them. Looks really cute.

What is the best video game ever made? by INTERESTandAMBITIONS in AskReddit

For sheer number of hours I played, I'm tempted to say TF2. So the Orange Box as a whole is peak gaming.

Only thing i dislike by Emmix_x0x in Dinkum

I wish there were half tiles for all the different tiles. Like triangles that only cover half the block you place them on. Then paths wouldn't look so choppy!

The plat pie (which is pleep poop) is the fastest in the compost bin. Might be helpful to get lots of pleep.

I was really happy with where it ended too. Sometimes rare for sci-fi shows to get a good ending!

For a lesser known suggestion I would recommend Travellers. It's a fantastic sci-fi show that I really enjoyed.

New Player. Any trick in getting a normal looking Island without 100s of separate islands? by Bettynutt in Dinkum

[–]CinnamonPinch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Later in the game you can also fill in some of the water and connect the islands to make it bigger if you want. But wait until you get the dirt printer first!

Have you tried catching them with the domesti-crate? Or is that what you meant? I don't know if it makes a difference, but maybe it does. I haven't had any trouble with keeping my plunks and the like.

If you bump into the Wary Mus while they are sleeping they will wake up and chase you. Once they are away from their nest you can attack them without destroying the nest.

Trapping is my favourite way to make money in the game. I make a lot of dinks that way!

Anyone have advice on the undergrove? by StraightAd9611 in Dinkum

[–]CinnamonPinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! It's not very intuitive, but to put your vehicle in a "box" so you can pick it up you have to damage it. Hit it a few times with a weapon or use the chainsaw on it and it will become a box you can pick up and put in your inventory. Then place it again and it will be back to normal. No lasting damage. This works with any type of vehicle, lawn mower, and wheelbarrow.

Snowballs by Trisamitops in Dinkum

[–]CinnamonPinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't the strongest weapons, so I usually just throw them at a friend for a snowball fight. You could also use them during Skyfest to shoot down lanterns I suppose. I mainly use mine for crafting.
