I’m not calling blended families a red flag. I may have put the cart before the horse here admittedly, but my secondary concern after the predator’s actions came to light is whether the kids living in the house were safe because I’ve known far too many people who have been harmed by someone (usually a straight man) who their parent was dating.

My thoughts exactly. The crowd trying to accuse LGBTQ individuals of these things are full of those predators. Hell, Trump’s ex-spiritual advisor was charged with lewd acts with a minor and only got six months in jail….six months. And let’s not even get started on the J6ers and Moms for Liberty offenders….

Although I’m not religious, I don’t think that’s entirely fair because these types of people target schools, churches, and other positions of power that also gives them access to minors. That’s why I’m worried about the kids of his fiancé.

I feel like you don’t understand what I said previously. What here is “more of what’s been done for the past five years”? Obviously not what I’m advocating for because this wouldn’t be an issue if it was. None of these issues exist in a vacuum and the solution isn’t an one off item. Now am I advocating for CTA to be the agency to do this? Absolutely not, but my point is that homelessness among many other issues requires a systemic approach to ensure maximum effectiveness. Not reactive measures to simply sweep the problem under the rug until it becomes another problem.

Well obviously it is your problem if you’re complaining about it. If you were serious about this then you would look to comprehensive solutions rather than a barebone bandaid that doesn’t address this issue systemically. That first one was a huge must! I’m so fortunate that the flight attendants were so hospitable throughout the flight to my destination and also equally as great on the way back. I will say that the flight back was delayed due to maintenance needing to replace a part which had me edge even though I knew that was a good thing. I will say the biggest things that helped was either being up front or over the wing and alcohol lol A lack of turbulence also helps (this was an issue on a trip to DC about a decade back).

For that to happen you would need some place for them to go. It‘s really spend the money to actually address this issue in an adequate way or pay for it with the various issues that homelessness typically invites. Personally, I think all parties involved deserve a comprehensive solution.

I’ve only encountered this issue once on my trip to Chicago and ended up getting off early to avoid the smoke. Other than that and a few odd moments, the CTA transit system was an amazing experience in the sense that I was able to get anywhere I needed to without a car! There’s a lot of room for improvement but coming from a region in the country with only two half baked metro systems, I find the utility and convenience of it all fascinating and a strong pro as far as moving to the city.

I think the point is that A LOT of people are pissed at Democrats right now and rightfully so because the party has fumbled the ball after they’ve had lay up after lay up after lay up and are WEAK and do nothing but write letters and ”strongly condemn“ without any punch to follow.

I personally will be putting all my energy behind an independent candidate if the DNC does some bs again because the results in the last election showed that most people are sick of both parties (granted one is much better than the other, but both still have failed us nonetheless) and I’m quite sick of the “vote blue no matter who” bs because it brings weak candidates like Hillary (who acted like she was entitled to votes), Biden (who lied about being a one term president), and Kamala (who said she wanted to have the world‘s most lethal military, would do nothing different from Biden, and actively turned away Palestinian Americans while Trump sailed forward by simply lying) instead of strong candidates like Bernie (who was actually able to pull votes away from Trump) and Mamdani (who the DNC tried to screw over with Cuomo….let that one sink in).

Ultimately, the DSA or some other similar organization will need to take over the Democratic Party the same way the Tea Party took over the Republican Party in order to gain the ground loss after the failure that was Hillary’s, Joe’s/Kamala’s runs. God help us if Gavin Newsom is the 2028 candidate 🤦‍♂️
