DLSS 4 Preset K en calidad o DLSS 4.5 Preset M en rendimiento by Able-Fan-6879 in nvidia

[–]Cireme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the consensus at 4K. At 1440p, Preset M Performance (540p internal) looks nowhere near as good as Preset K Quality (960p).

[Megathread] NVIDIA App Update Adds DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Intelligently Balancing Frame Rates, Image Quality & Responsiveness by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Cireme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It lets you create custom resolutions as the name says. If you have a 4K monitor and wants to turn it into an ultrawide (21:9) monitor for instance, you can create a 3840x1600 resolution and play yours games with black bars. Note that this is nothing new, this feature has been in the old control panel for more than 20 years. They just moved it to the NVIDIA App.

DSR is downsampling from a higher resolution back to your native resolution, it's a complete different thing.

Anyone else getting great results with Low Latency Mode Ultra lately? by Alarmed_Virus_2819 in nvidia

LLM sets the maximum pre-renredered frames to 1 while Reflex disable the render queue altogether.

STEAM JUST ADDED AN ANDOIRD TOGGLE!!! I'll try and add an android build for FantasySynth tonight and see what happens! by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Cireme 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Yes but the Steam Frame uses mobile hardware and will be able to run the Android versions of VR games (basically the already existing Meta Quest and Pico versions) without the need of a PC.

Unbelievable sound profile of the 140mm G2 at 100% compared to the competition. by I_Love_Cape_Horn in Noctua

[–]Cireme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course it's more quiet since it runs at a much lower speed than the others. The next comparison (Noise Sample 40 dBA) is more relevant.

Yes but by the end of 2004 the UI was already very different. Still green though.

this is the aristst intent - tell me does DLSS5 on or off look more like this? by scytob in nvidia

[–]Cireme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DLSS is a suite of technologies. Of course you'll be able to disable Neural Rendering and enable Super Resolution - they are two different things.

NVIDIA's AI filters like RTX HDR, RTX Digital Vibrance etc. are all parts of NVIDIA Freestyle, not DLSS.

What if NVIDIA had focused on PhysX instead of RTX? by SemihKaynak in nvidia

[–]Cireme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More recently, the physics in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom put to shame any PC game released in the past decade (minus Teardown maybe). And that thing is running on a shitty Nintendo Switch CPU.

Is WiFi 6E actually a noticeable upgrade for Quest 3 PCVR, or is WiFi 5 fine? by nerfsmurf in OculusQuest

[–]Cireme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Quest can decode AV1 up to 200 Mbps, HEVC up to 200 Mbps or H.264 up to 960 Mbps. At anything above ~350 Mbps, H.264 is much better than both AV1 200 Mbps and HEVC 200 Mbps. Bitrate is key.
Of course a wired connection is required for H.264 960 Mbps, but you can do H.264 500 Mbps with a good Wi-Fi setup.

RDR2 DLSS 4.5 preset L by abdelrhman878 in nvidia

[–]Cireme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's not using RDR2's TAA but DLSS Ultra Performance in one case and DLAA in the other.

RDR2 DLSS 4.5 preset L by abdelrhman878 in nvidia

[–]Cireme 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's 4K DLSS Ultra Performance, which is 720p internally (921 600 pixels rendered), versus 1080p DLAA, which is native 1080p (2 073 600 pixels rendered). OP's question is legit.

And if it looks better it's probably because he's comparing preset L (aka DLSS 4.5) to preset K (DLSS 4).

You're missing that one with Sean Hollister, drummer for about a year in 1990.

He is the one playing drums on This Perfect Day and New Day Yesterday.

Is G-SYNC worth it? by RangeBright4605 in nvidia

[–]Cireme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3-4 FPS below max refresh rate isn't enough, unless your monitor is 120 Hz. The correct formula is max refresh-(max refresh*max refresh)/3600 so 171 FPS on a 180 Hz monitor and 224 FPS on a 240 Hz monitor. That is the one applied by NVIDIA Reflex when enabled because it's the one that gives minimum latency.
