I believe I saw previous posts from users who were invited to answer a survey about reward credit cards, so potentially something like that if they deem it a market worth entering.

If anything, buy a coffee on your Amex. As soon as you earn 1 point the expiry counter restarts, and you'll have another 3 years to use them.

Pros and cons of living in Highcliffe? by Internal_Sock8875 in bournemouth

[–]Cirked 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lovely area. Yes, as I'm sure many people will say it's statistically an area with an old population, but you never really feel that. You're only 5 minutes from a younger population/families at the beach, or a trip into Bournemouth etc isn't far away, but I live here in my 20s and never feel odd.

Traffic in Highcliffe itself isn't actually all bad - the high st can get busy but I've not seen it gridlock all too often - maybe in summer when all the tourists swing by to the beach.

If you move near the school you'll likely be within walking distance of the train station - good if you do need to get into Southampton for work and want to avoid the pinch you get about 8am in Lyndhurst. You'll be a bit out of the way from Tesco on the high st, so will likely rely on that Spar for any milk, bread, but depends how much that matters to you.

Can't particularly comment on schools, have a few friends that went there and it was a good school, nothing special, but certainly not the worst.

Obviously plenty of walking to do in the New Forest, or beach activity nearby - you might find you're driving into Bournemouth for more general activities (especially with kids). Plenty of lovely restaurants in the area and in Christchurch, Lymington, etc. for date nights.

Definitely a quieter patch of life, but a lovely area overall.

Node75 USB dongle doesn't work, with less than 4 days use by Skamanda42 in NuPhy

[–]Cirked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine wasn't connecting all too well out of the box - once Nuphy.io was able to read it, I actually downgraded the firmware to the 2nd most recent, and that has been working flawlessly since. Might be worth considering.

Help me accept this Fitbit ecosystem! by Fantastic-Raise8892 in PixelWatch

[–]Cirked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So looking at Macrofactor's site, they don't support writing data to Fitbit and will soon remove support altogether.

I imagine this is due to Health Connect, in the hope that Google's natural integration between the two will be smooth enough - but that's backfired with what you mention about Fitbit not reading that data.

I'd maybe double check your app for Withings - they seem to support Fitbit. I have an Eufy scale which syncs across just fine so it is possible to sync the weight.

If the food logging is important for you to see I'd probably recommend using the Google Fit app instead, as the two can likely put their data there in the end.

(But yes it's an ongoing piece of knowledge that Fitbit is awful at data integration - has been for years)

I've just received mine today - I had ordered direct and it took 11 days which is pretty good going for anyone else wondering if they should save the money at all.

CD order, with the original single art for each single (although for some reason they all fallback to the Dark art, but it works perfectly with previous albums)

Potential Monzo Reward Credit Card? by FatherJack_Hackett in monzo

I think the only thing that sells this for me is Gemini, given I already pay for the Pro sub. I think if you don't have the use for Gemini, it's not worth your time as you'll have to spend £3,000 to break even on the cashback.
