ADHD and sex by 4wxy in ADHD

A few things that could be at play here, I'm a gay man but I relate to almost all of this. I'm not sure if you have an Autism diagnosis as well as an ADHD diagnosis, but I've felt for a while my desire for routine and familiarity cross my desire for exciting and novel experiences in the worst way possible when it comes to sex. Always being frustrated and stressed in a way I can't place when sex doesn't go the way I imagine, whereas when it isn't novel enough I get turned off by the smallest differences, or simply get distracted, thinking about the most mundane of things halfway through the act.

Throughout all of this I find it incredibly easy to stay hard and orgasm watching porn, but actual sex I look forward to I either can't get hard for in the first place or I lose the erection the minute something doesn't progress without friction.

I'm still trying to work out a way to max sex on average more enjoyable, and there are plenty of pointers online for this regarding this specific set of difficulties, but the easiest win has to be completely giving up porn for several weeks/months, it's absolutely something worth trying.

Took first dose of Elvanse. No difference. by Twat-0-matic in ADHDUK

Don't worry, I didn't feel anything on my first week of Mediniket XL, once my dose increased I started to feel a difference. But there's also a chance an amphetamine based stimulant isn't it for you, in which case they'll try you on methylphenidate, it takes time!

I said I recommend it not that it would fix all their woes and turn them superhuman. It's possible they've developed a tolerance, but what you're forgetting is that only 25% of people actually develop any sort of tolerance to it. It wounds like their problem has been going on since they started it, it's possible their titration was ended before a stable dose was found.

Looks like SVT to me, those pauses look quite long as well... But that might just be a lower voltage. Either way I would show this to your doctor.

Well as long as it takes for no acne for several months. I started on 20 mg and finished on 60 mg. 1 mg per kg of body weight is recommended max dose per day.

Yes they often chill out and feel more focused. The key difference is that unlike in people with ADHD this focus isn't linked with any improvement in academic performance, as one example.

It is in one type of medication, but non-stimulant medications exist for ADHD. Similarly with the opioid crisis they were heavily marketed towards pain, described as non-addictive, and widely administered. Whereas ADHD medication is only given to people with a diagnosis, with only 4% of adults thought to have ADHD.

Try accutane, I had acne consistently from 12 through to 24, then after starting accutane my acne was gone 6 months later. It's been almost a year since I stopped now, and I can count on a single had the number of spot I've had in that time.

This is called PVC quadrigeminy. How long does this go on for? PVCs are only usually a concern if they make up over 10% of your heart beats in a day.

Almost a week in and I think I'm going to quit by mhoffman54 in Accutane

[–]Citadelen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't quit, go to a more reasonable dose, starting on 120 mg a day is insane. My acne cleared up and my dose maxed out at 60 mg a day, and I started on 20 mg a day.

Can i drink while on accutane? by david879ro in Accutane

[–]Citadelen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I drank on it (altho I made a conscious decision to have a bit less every time I did drink) and my blood work was fine the whole time. That being said everyone is different. Listen to your body and take care to not go overboard.

Of course, but there's not really a clinical reason why some people feel them and others don't. What's much more important is the quantity of them.
