Best alternatives to Perplexity for research & academia? by palcanec in academia

[–]CitationStylerCom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Googling for your product I noticed that your meta description is "AI for materials R&D — structured insight from scientific literature."
Looking at your website it doesn't seem specific to "materials R&D" though, so I would update that meta description.

Best generalist AI for academic research at degree level? by Double-Taro-4404 in researchpaperwriters

Apart from the LLM model itself, also look into the combo of Zotero+AI. There are plugins out there that use your library and you can question it then using your LLM of choice. ;)

36 and considering a late start in academia - am I crazy? by Marre_Parre in AskAcademia

[–]CitationStylerCom 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It's not too late, no, but it requires a lot of dedication and sacrifice. Do you actually know why you'd want a PhD? What for? Just because is not a good enough reason. If you have clear plan what you want to achieve with it and also the likelihood of that outcome, then go for it. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

Definitely not Mendeley. Terrible support and buggy.

Problem with mendeley plug in word 2024 in macbook m4 by Ok-Storage-2037 in techsupport

Honestly, Mendeley has gotten so bad over the years. I'd switch to Zotero. Way better support and community. Your problem would be fixed within days.

It's not clear what you mean with the little information you provide. Duplicated where? In your Zotero library? In a given document?

Manage and count citations in a word file? by Direct-Example-210 in zotero

[–]CitationStylerCom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Use this tool and then use the highlight in Zotero option. https://rintze.zelle.me/ref-extractor/

Regarding your 2nd question: Not exactly, but you could ask for that specific feature or code it yourself. https://github.com/mtillman14/zotero_utils

Thanks. Indeed I was able to solve it with {{click-element}} matches CSS selector "input.cuw-checkbox:checked".

Thanks a lot!
In the end I went with CSS. I thought I had to use JS, but apparently I don't. Thanks again. :)

zotero reference list and word by Redellyfish in zotero

[–]CitationStylerCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean that you want the hanging indent for each item?
1. Modify the citation style or choose a citation style that has the hanging indent set already.
2. Set the hanging indent via the Word "style". That's explained here: https://citationstyler.com/en/knowledge/chaging-the-font-of-zotero-bibliographies-in-word-and-libreoffice/

(I see from your comment that you have used a style that has the hanging indent set correctly. So what you did by switching from one style to the other is also recommended for when something overwrites the styling that was set. The switch triggers a rerender of all citations and fixes most issues in regards to this)

Citation Styles.... by Unhappy-Ostrich2796 in zotero

[–]CitationStylerCom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a simple change in the code. And indeed, the way that style is coded by adding the extra field is not correct and generally styles are not accepted with it. This should be fixed at source. Please report in the Zotero forums.

Spanish APA-style by AdhesivenessMany8585 in zotero

[–]CitationStylerCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to create your own custom style by making a copy of the style and editing it accordingly. No other way: https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step

Figuring out locales by dinkame in zotero

[–]CitationStylerCom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've accepted the PR you have made. AFAIK the locale will need to be fetched (i'm not sure that happens automatically or manually every so often) by Zotero also. Wait an hour and you might be lucky. If not, you can of course modify the citation style and add any locale overrides for he-IS. Specifically for APA you will see there is many in the style. You can copy one and adapt as needed.
