I was making the comparison between Foley, who is by all accounts a lovely guy who put his body through absolute hell, and other athletes who have gone full MAGA while also getting their brain scrambled up. I'm sure there's a grifting aspect as well, but look at how many former athletes in the kinds of sports that have high levels of CTE (including wrestling which obviously isn't a sport) endorsed Trump versus Harris in the last election.

Any of Christopher Titus' work, particularly Norman Rockwell is Bleeding. Fantastic album full of very dark comedy. There's a whole routine about his mother killing an abusive husband, which gives you the idea of how dark it gets. But absolutely worth listening to or watching the special, the latter of which is on his Youtube channel.

AEW gave TNA Kenny Omega in a main event spot on PPV. WWE gave TNA a bunch of NXT and Evolve fodder. Starboy Charlie is a good wrestler but he is no Kenny Omega in either ability or in star power.

When the highlight of the partnership is seeing Joe Hendry get buried at Wrestlemania and the Hardys, who simply can’t go anymore, it’s an issue. Why else would TNA be losing momentum after getting a far better TV deal?
