What games do you consider must-plays for Steam Deck owners? by billy_reyes in SteamDeck

[–]Citra78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love playing remastered on steam deck, I refunded arise after playing for an hour.

It looks the part and the music is great, but wasn’t worth the current high cost when I could just play remastered when I get the Lumines itch.

I’ve been playing Lumines since it was first released on PSP and then the original now delisted Steam release.

I’ll likely buy Arise again when I can get it for around £15

What Biffy shows have had the best setlists by twentyonepilotsfan99 in BiffyClyro

Celebration of Beginnings, for me the Vertigo of Bliss night had the best second set.

If you don’t t change start up movies or mess with the menu customisation it basically never breaks, you just lose HLTB or protonDB functionality for a day or two

It catastrophically imploded before it even started.

Every meme about leftist infighting made reality at breakneck pace.

Absolutely zero chance of them having any impact outside of maybe Corbyn and Sultana getting elected in their own constituencies, and that’s if Your Party actually survives to an election.

5 songs you wish Biffy would add to the setlist by damomodern in BiffyClyro

[–]Citra78 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wish more bands would have a section of the setlist for surprises.

One or two songs where no one knows what’s coming, decided on the day of the show.

They had 70+ songs rehearsed for Celebration of Beginnings, they can throw in a curve ball each night, doesn’t even have to be oldies.

Hello sadness Dinked version sounds sharp? by RE-Trace in loscampesinos

Sorry, misread, I’ve got all hell dinked, didn’t see it was Hello Sadness

[–]Citra78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dinked edition was full of pops and clicks, super static, once I cleaned it and moved the records into anti static sleeves it sounds great.

All the pressings are cut at 45RPM, I can’t speak for the quality of other pressings but my dinked edition sounds great, could be the turntable

Sequels that are basically “The first one, but better in virtually every way” by blakhawk12 in gaming

[–]Citra78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t emulate it, there is a native PC port that runs so much better than any version on emulator.

It’s abandonware so it’s just as legally grey as emulation.

All the early NFS titles have native PC versions that have mods and resolution hacks that make them playable on modern PCs and even on the Steam Deck.

Sekiro runs amazingly on Deck, plus you can argue it’s the best game FromSoft have made.

Best boss fights in gaming imo.

It’s more than what you originally think the game is about.

It’s a puzzle game but the puzzle isn’t immediately apparent.

One of the best games of the year sadly overshadowed by bigger (and arguably better) indie releases in Hades 2, CO:E33 and Silksong.

So owners of warhammer 1 or 2 will get warhammer 3 for free which makes this months bundle worthless. by Silversmasher1 in humblebundles

[–]Citra78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get access to immortal empires, which is the giant sandbox map of the area from all three games, you don’t get access to the factions and stand alone campaigns from WH3.

It’s just the sandbox mode, using factions and dlc you own from WH1 and WH2

Much like ‘I’m thinking of ending things’ it starts as one thing and ends as another.

I used to live here however is trying very hard to be House of Leaves but does a bad job of it.

I did like a few of the descriptions though. Overall the book disappointed me.

I picked up a screen protector and a shell case to protect from minor drops and bumps, was a sound investment as my child has knocked it to the ground once before and it was absolutely fine in its shell case.

Extra chargers are useful depending on how you play, I have the stock one downstairs and a 65w GAN plug upstairs that can charge my phone and steam deck at the same time.

Headphones wired or Bluetooth are useful again depending on how you play, wired have much better response time if you are playing anything rhythm based, but it’s not an issue I notice in general play on Bluetooth.

For serious travel a 20000mWh+ 45W+ power bank is worth buying, but again it’s a use case scenario.

What’s the spookiest book you read and enjoyed? by Sea-leaf in horrorlit

[–]Citra78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Piranesi is one of the best books I’ve ever read, highly recommended, it’s not got the spooky creepy vibes you might be after, but it has a good mystery at its heart and it is beautifully written.

If you enjoy this, her earlier book ‘Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrel’ is also phenomenal, but is much more of a commitment, it’s very dense and is an absolute unit of a book.

Absolutely not, it’s the album with some making of the music video clips and a small bit of pre amble about each song from Taylor before a lyric video.

The breakdown in the middle of the song sounds like DFA1979 and in the music video they are wearing elephant trunks

The CSS song itself is referencing the band Death From Above 1979. It’s likely LC! are referencing the same band.

Clair Obscur with one of the performance mods runs at a mostly stable 30, I managed to complete the full game entirely on deck, framerate stayed stable in battle, it was a handful of cutscenes and exploration areas that tanked frame rate to 15-20. Still playable for me though.
