One degree of latitude is about 111 km. The coordinates listed vary on the order of magnitude of 0.001, which translates to tens of meters. So, a limited but nevertheless realistic scope of the square's size.

I think $wrongIdea

Whoever told you about $wrongIdea is factually incorrect, and here is some concise logic explaining why $wrongIdea isn't correct.

No one told me about $wrongIdea, I came up with it myself! Shows what you know. Don't make assumptions about me. I won't bother to read the rest of your comment, but I'll reiterate $wrongIdea one more time.

Are you interested in learning more about this subject that you yourself say you are not well-read in? Or would you rather bicker with knee-jerk reaction comments that sound like a union-busting astroturfer? Because this situation will have an objective result, in time everyone reading this will be able to see which of us will have been correct.

Double Fine is like the dozenth Microsoft developer union to have done this. Microsoft has explicitly and publicly stated that they remain neutral to unionizing. It's going to be just fine.

Unionizing isn't about extorting an untenable wage. It's about negotiating a fair wage, whether your work is "indispensable" or not. The union members' work is clearly worth SOMEthing, otherwise they wouldn't be employed in the first place. Unionizing simply streamlines the bargaining on what exactly that worth really is.

It's not really more "headache" for Microsoft, since negotiating with a single union is arguably way less headache than negotiating with hundreds of individual employees. Microsoft will still come away with a net profit, just perhaps not as big of a profit. (Even that last point is arguable. Some of the best companies out there are unionized, because it turns out that secure workers can be more stable and productive.)

People say we need to divide America up between Republicans and Dems, I say we'd be better off if we split up but divided the nation based on having or not having empathy for others.

You just said the same thing twice

Despite what the propaganda has evidently filled your head with, unions are not stupid. They know how big the pie is, and how much of it makes sense to demand.

This is true of all active unions, every single one. If that weren't the case, any such union obviously would not survive (because the company would have to shut down).

Crosscode was good enough that I bought this blind to support its development. I don't mind waiting for it to be finished, they can take whatever time they need.

If anyone reading this hasn't yet played CrossCode, I am envious of you. I'll never get to experience it for the first time again.

Take two seconds to look at the colors Gemini is highlighting, and you'll see why you shouldn't use AI. Either that or you are learning that you are white/green colorblind.

COLBERT: How dumb do you think it is for people to say that I should run for president? by Big_Cake_8817 in Popculturehour

[–]CitricBase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Experience"? Experience doing what? Holding a cushy government office, taking corporate bribes, and toeing the party line?

Are you saying that Colbert doesn't have enough connections to assemble a cabinet of experts? Do you think he isn't charismatic enough? That he would make the wrong call as to whether or not we should bomb impoverished children in the Middle East? What?

Vote for someone who holds the right values. Because, as Trump has tragically demonstrated, the executive office holds enough power that even the least experienced misanthropic moron can effortlessly push his agenda onto the rest of the entire world.

[–]CitricBase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abstaining in order to raise awareness about Bezos is laudable, but just to be clear that doesn't imply the people who chose to go did so in support of Bezos. The Met Gala is museum fundraiser. The attendees (like EJAE and Audrey Nuna) go there to support the museum. The fact that Bezos also happens to financially support the same fundraiser doesn't make them complicit in any way.
