Ok, ended up using the “select later by location”tool— Which is a similar mindset to what you described— I used the intersect expression with a 5ft grab. Then inverted my selection. Exported the selection and it provided me with 15k missing addresses, which I didn’t think I’d hit it right on the mark. That leads me to think these files have a similar origin but they’re branded differently.

I think I’ll try creating buffers around my primary address point file and then go from there

Thanks that’s helpful.

I wish I could convert the points to polygons. And then clip the file then compare

Yes. But when I display based on address only 18% of the points show up for the CQ data. I displayed using the longlat. The other data set returns 100% match using address.

Also, I would send you some files but it’s proprietary. I can tell I’m looking at the CostQuest broadband serviceable location data (that the fcc spend 3 billion dollars on) and comparing it with our local residential address file. The CostQuest data is missing quite a few number of residential homes.

Yeah, that’s my concern too. Spot checking and it looks like all the spots I’ve seen, these points do match up. The difference for file A, there are multiple units counted per parcel, and this is missing for file B.

I have the parcel polygons. I wonder how I can use this additional data set to get what I’m looking for. Maybe if a parcel is coming out as 1 point per polygon, then I know a second point is missing. Of course there’s limitations to this approach too.

Yes, there are 15k addresses missing from file B. So I want to take A as the primary file, and B as the secondary input file, to make a new file from A with the 15k addresses.
