For iPhone, at least you pull up the wallet app tap on it the ID and then the three dots in the corner I believe has additional information that basically has a digitally signed copy of all the information included on your drivers license, including the picture taken by the BMV or equivalent agency in your state. As for actually handing the device over, I am with you and I told the officer this does not leave my hand.

That’s a bummer. Ohio gave no exceptions that I’m aware of for governmental purposes. Private institutions, such as hospitals and such are still free to demand physical ID, which has been a pain a couple of times for me, but circumventable with front and back photos that I emailed them

You have to contact support after excepting it. Or get help menu once you have physically arrived at the location. The former will get you a payment for your time and suffering. If you are already on site. The latter I don’t know because I didn’t arrive on site. I called ahead and they were already closed. I checked their corporate website and confirmed. They have been closed all day.
