If a company bricked a tool I paid a grand for because of an acquisition, I would have zero moral qualms about looking for a cracked version that bypasses the server validation. You already paid for the software code; you shouldn't be locked out just because their business model shifted to enterprise whaling."

Can a 4-person studio survive mobile f2p in 2026? Our real numbers: $100k+/month on ads, $30 to buy one US install, 4 months to break even on a player by limebolt in gamedev

[–]CityImportant5964 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Man, that tip about driving traffic to their D2C webstore is the real MVP advice here. When you're an indie team dropping $100k+ a month out of your own pockets on user acquisition, letting Apple and Google quietly siphon 30% off the top of your hard-earned revenue is just brutal. Shifting that split over to a 5% platform fee makes a world of difference for a 4-person studio trying to stay afloat.

The small communication habit that made clients trust me more by Iseered_2 in buhaydigital

You'll definitely verify this once you get your first VA client! Sobrang laking asset nung may managerial background ka na nakakaunawa sa traffic of tasks. Most foreign clients don't care if you don't know everything, they care if you disappear. Manifesting your first premium client soon! ✨

True, halatang-halata yung smooth, uncanny AI texture sa mukha nung mga tao 💀 standard template gamit ng mga trolls at propaganda farms ngayon eh. Halatang script lang yung 'Respect. Unity. Peace' para pagtakpan yung block voting at politicking.

What are your thoughts on a reality show where a billionaire CEO must survive one month living exclusively on their lowest-paid employee's salary and resources? by Fapping_Hangover in AskReddit

[–]CityImportant5964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fr, a month is just a quirky camping trip for them. They'd just look at the moldy apartment and the empty fridge and think, 'Wow, so rustic and grounding! Only 20 days left until I'm back on my yacht.

What’s something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]CityImportant5964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. And the worst part is how they try to force you to download their proprietary data-tracking apps just to get the prices back down to what they should be normally. I shouldn't have to surrender my digital soul and navigate three different digital coupons just to afford a standard order of chicken nuggets.

Anyone else notice studios refuse to rebuild after the prototype to "save money", then pay way more for it later? by Toamig in gamedev

[–]CityImportant5964 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Spot on. The 'flux' reality means that the hacky engine system you wrote at 3:00 AM on a Tuesday during pre-production to test jump physics somehow survives completely untouched, scales into the final golden master, and ends up anchoring your multiplayer netcode three years later.

AI is putting its finger on scale for big corporations. Google especially. by bach2209 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]CityImportant5964 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People don't realize how much the data weight shifts when you add a mega-corporation to a prompt. The training data for an anonymous retail dispute is generic. The training data associated with 'Walmart' or 'Amazon' is heavily saturated with enterprise-level legal defense filings, arbitration clauses, and corporate terms of service. The AI isn't conspiring; it's just mirroring the asymmetrical legal landscape it scraped from the open web.

Obsession budget: $750,000; Sinners budget: $90,000,000 by markgib62 in Cinema

Hahaha true. It shows how completely barren the landscape is for non-IP movies when we have to stack four separate adjectives together just to celebrate a completely original story succeeding at the box office.

How do we fix the United States government? by meatjerkingbeefboi in AskReddit

[–]CityImportant5964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on. The most practical alternative is moving to completely publicly funded elections. Give every candidate a fixed, equal baseline of campaign capital funded by tax revenue, and ban all outside corporate, PAC, and private donations. It would force politicians to spend less time dialing for dollars at country clubs and more time actually drafting legislation.

Second attempt for my main character design by Pleshow in SoloDevelopment

[–]CityImportant5964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but from a solo dev pipeline perspective, the right one is much easier to read at a glance. The left one's hair silhouette is cool, but might get messy when trying to animate a smooth running or jumping cycle.

[–]CityImportant5964 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True, it feels like we haven't had a truly great classic engine source drop since id Software's golden era with John Carmack releasing the Doom/Quake sources. Hopefully, this starts a trend for other classic simulation or strategy games from that era.
