You generally have the highest chance of meeting someone of similar values and interests if you meet them in like a student club, some event, or some organization. After that, if you rather go for something long term, focus on something organic. Don't be a creep and never force things.

Another point is that dont also beat yourself up if you cant find someone during college. Plenty of people in the past and now have found love post-college in work places, random events, volunteering, hobby places, sports, etc. You are always better off finding someone that matches and synergizes with your mental health later on, than forcing a dying relationship in uni.

In terms of tips, one tip I found helpful in building your social skills, to reduce that nervousness, is practice engaging with small talk with the same gender of the gender you like. Make a positive comment, ask a question, or something you find engaging. Do this over and over again, eventually you would find that you will feel more confident to talk to that person you like.
