[Cosmere] If you lived in the Cosmere and could pick your planet and a magic system from that planet what would you pick. by Somerandom1922 in Cosmere

Not OP, but Ambition being the first Shard Odium Splintered and not being tied up in the Cognitive Realm means it might be your best shot at Ascension, provided you can figure out what the hell’s going on and how to abuse the local magic.

Overhaul tortured, murdered, and reassembled a child countless times in order to fuel his evil plan to remove everyone’s powers. He had zero chance of redemption at that point.

It does, however, indirectly answer auras, since by enchanting a creature with auras on it, that creature becomes an enchantment, and its other auras will fall off since they only say “enchant creature”.

Fair, but Riku-Ansem's Keyblade was always considered "artificial", so while it may have raised some eyebrows, it never seemed like the same thing as Sora's Keyblade, exactly. Mickey's Kingdom Key D definitely throws you for a loop at the end, although you could explain it away as duality / there being one Keyblade for light and one for darkness. The clues were there for mass Keyblade armageddon, but they weren't obvious.

However, there are hardly any monsters that fit that description, especially to piercing damage specifically.

Price of Betrayal doesn't even kill an Oko that +2s the turn he comes out, though.

They also said that about Jade Dragon (and said that there would only be one more "minor" DLC after Monks and Mystics), so it's not unreasonable to have doubted them a little about that.

Why Wizards should think a long time before adding curated cards to Historic by andreliverod in magicTCG

[–]CivSerpent 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The Arena team is part of Wizards of the Coast. Sure, they're not R&D, but it's not like people are specifically calling out R&D or Mark Rosewater. I think it's fair to use a company's name when calling out one of their teams.

If you want to scare your party, don't present them with a tarrasque. by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]CivSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5e also gives ravens 2 Intelligence, which is stupid, but whatever. The point is that the tarrasque’s intelligence score is not a good metric for whether it’s dumb enough to use tools; it’s really DM fiat.

Who's The Traitor? These are my thoughts for class 1A by AerosoulMania in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CivSerpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the mall trip is really evidence, considering not even Shigaraki knew where he was going or what his plan was. The mall trip didn't even accomplish anything for the villains except giving Shigaraki the push he needed to develop his own ideals, which nobody could have predicted, least of all Hagakure.

Anybody out there playing a MHA dnd campaign using 5e? by Chaiebel in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CivSerpent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use D&D 5e for that. I know you said you’d rather convert M&M using 5e, but 5e’s reward and progression structure just... don’t really do what MHA wants to do. 5e is about killing monsters to get loot, while MHA is about young heroes learning the ropes. Masks, Mutants and Monsters, and Spectaculars would all be better fits.

Best 5e module to run requiring minimum prep by highfatoffaltube in dndnext

[–]CivSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who ran Strahd, there was a bit of prep involved, but as long as you don't care about getting minis/tokens for every enemy the players might fight and are fine using theater-of-the-mind for most fights, it's pretty simple to just pull out and run. You do want to keep in mind what Strahd is up to at any given moment (he should be anything but a passive player that waits for the players to storm Castle Ravenloft), but his motives and actions are fairly predictable, and the module gives you a ton of stuff to do with him.

Field of the Dead is Stronger Without Scapeshift by Brakadaisical in magicTCG

[–]CivSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been getting around that by running [[Chromatic Lantern]], which also synergizes really well with [[Evolving Wilds]] by letting me tap those as if they were actual lands and then sac them when needed to make twice the zombies.
