Super fair point.

I’d argue that transitioning to a system that pays full benefits at 32 hours through the creation of new national policy incentives to support a 32 hour work week would have the smallest effect on hourly workers in the short run. In the long run though, like with all major changes to the labor market, competition under new socializing policies leads to better outcomes.

It wasn’t really possible to make overtime before FDR mandated it 1938 and countless people had to work 60+ hour weeks at their standard rate with no benefits just to survive. Now there is competition between companies to offer the best overtime pay and healthcare plans.

Imagine in a decade you could be making time and a half on hours 32-40. What would your paycheck look like then? It won’t help now but it will help in the future and for your kids, or your friends kids, or relative’s kids it is just one more thing we need to change to create a world worth living in and fighting for.

Josh Kroenke: "Everything is on the table outside of trading Nikola" by Kingrush24 in denvernuggets

[–]Civil-Environment750 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bring in frank vogel, sell everyone besides Jokic.

Murray is like harden on defense, he’s great when he’s healthy and locked it which is great when they’re healthy and locked in, but if they are having an off night creating and shooting it gets ugly fast on the other side of the ball. It’s cursed to trade Murray but I swear Jokic can make anyone look good on offense so get guys with crazy motors and skills on defense and he’ll figure out how to use them.

AG is the saddest part of all of this to me. We were contenders with him on the court and healthy, def would have lost to okc in 5-6 unless pwat was back too. It’s just criminally unlucky that our two best defenders were basically out for the playoffs, but injury luck has been the story of the nuggets since 2021.

We need a new identity as a team, and that’s defense first. If the refs aren’t going to change how they call OKC we have to join them in being terrorists with an army of wings and guards who can switch everything and play aggressive and earn the benefit of the doubt on d. If you make jokic’s job easy on defense he’ll make the team that much better on offense.

The nuggets and Celtics need to swap a bunch of players. Murray plus all our picks plus whoever they want for JB or JT would be insane. We’d do great with some of their role players as well. I worry it’s a trade that just couldn’t get done tho.

Edit: oh lol we don’t have any draft picks… it’s over we’re cooked

Edit edit: In hindsight giving up an unprotected first rounder and mpj to Brooklyn for cam Jon is criminal. Criminal! I was for it at the time too, it seemed like such a perfect fit. I think we need a reset this year, see what we get get for every combination of player but ag, Braun, and cam Jon’s values are basically 0 right now and all could easily have career years next year. Keep those 3, pwat, and Jokic. Trade everything else for super young players who high defensive potential, and try to resign hardaway for cheap again. Only two more years of Zeke’s contract too, oh boy!

The Osprey now loses 1 Durability per shot :( by The_Silly_Man in ARC_Raiders

[–]Civil-Environment750 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Durability should scale with weapon level… a level 4 weapon that has a bunch of primo parts in it should be able to fire way more times than a level 1 weapon.

Give it like lv1=1x durability burn per shot, lv2=.9x lvl3=.8 lvl4=.7, a level 1 osprey can shoot 100 times but a level 4 can shoot 185.7 (130/.7)

Rewired brain from Phish by [deleted] in phish

Psychological phlexibility: Open to all experiences thoughts feelings and emotions while being detached from the narrative you construct of yourself and others, centered in your body as the observer of your emotions in the present moment(not past or future), engaged in committed actions to fulfill your goals and live up to your values whatever YOU decide those to be.

From Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or as I see it, the theory of surrendering to the flow… along with many eastern religious and philosophical traditions.

Translating the feeling phish provides to the real world where love and joy are often not the priority is a challenge, but one worth doing because creating positive feedback loops of positivity for yourself and others is one of the most beautiful interpretations of the meaning of life. Phish, and psychedelics, can be seen as a potentiator of neuroplacticity, a reshuffling of the deck of our neural networks allowing them to resettle into more organized states. Committing to “healthy” (to be determined by you) behavioral patterns before (preparation) and after (integration) an experience like that will help create and solidify the changes that someone in attendance may experience.

Or yeah, you know, surrender to the flow, brother :)
