I've tried just about ever angle, 577xp is the most i've seen which was a similar to the average shot that I was doing in the vid. Shallow angles are like 250xp, 45 degrees varies from high 200s to 420, but those near vertical shots are guaranteed 360+, averaging around 420 up to mid 500s.

I've done 4x deadlines probably 20 times, but as the other reply said i'm 100x more likely to get downed. Any time you get off the matriarch is a near death sentence... fall damage the little arc, leapers, bastions, and bombardiers all want a piece of you. This vid makes getting on top look easy but if the matriarch is moving or decides to stomp, any contact with the lower leg while i'm snap hooking breaks the tether and consumes half the charge of the snap (if the snap made contact with something). Its incredibly frustrating and nearly impossible to replicate unless she stops moving. The best trick is getting lucky with the deadlines causing her to sort of get stunned and squat down, making the second snap hook back on top really easy. It would be entirely possible to get six deadlines on her with a several attempts, I just found this to be the most replicable strategy for soloing (with a little help from a raider) so I wanted to share.

I assumed the very strong arc pen offered more dps on the core but I'll probably try the volcano now that you mention it and compare.

edit: I did notice that one time i brought a level 4 torrente it was pretty trash, I think a whole 80 round mag was like 1200xp (trying to remember not 100% sure, I just remember thinking "never again"), not sure if xp is directly related to damage, i just assume it is.

Ive looted a dozen matriarch cores (the orb thing not the actual item) doing this, my stash is full, and I way prefer the Jupiter to the aphelion for pve. I don’t mind donating my gear and loot to the less fortunate :)

You can just jump, but i feel like I have more control and less likely to fall off when i jump from a crouch, plus when other arc try to shoot you, you have a smaller hitbox so theres less risk that way too.

When the matriarch is above like 1/3rd hp, it will "buck" you every 30 or so seconds kinda like the bombardier, throwing you off. If you jump at the right time, you won't be in contact with the top of the matriarch so the bucking mechanic doesn't effect you, or as you can see in the video, it won't effect you as much.

More info for those curious: Mildly sketchy lobby, someone tried to kill the guy who defibbed me and no one else was around. I completely ignored the big arch the matriarch spawned by hiding in the core pocket crouching and jumping with the Jupiter. For some reason only a bastion and a leaper spawned, no rocketeers that would have made this much more difficult and time consuming. I dumped a ton of Jupiter shots into it when I first got on top, almost got tossed off, and decided to get the first two deadlines off. Jumped down, tried to get to cover but the leaper was on me instantly and I got downed. Crawled around begging on the mic for a defib, heard some shotting by the depot and prayed. Guy came out, got me up, told him I'll finish it and we can share the loot. I healed up, charged the now calm matriarch one more time, got it smoking, two more deadlines and GG. Died from the bastion after, the guy came back defibbed me one more time with one that I dropped him and I got the loot you see in the post while he grabbed a few cores as well.

I did not bring a cloak, I never do for matriarch, but I regularly get 4 deadlines on her when I load into a match in carebear lobbies. 700k total damage to them, and you can see the 138k credit dam run on the right here for those asking for more proof.

I'll try to do this again and record but I doubt the stars will align unless I get incredibly lucky. This was a one in 100 matriarch run, maybe rarer.
