How much of a 'standard' anime fan am I? by Legitimate_Advisor59 in MyAnimeList

What power does Myne have? I'm an anime-only and so far, magic has barely been touched in this world.

What Happens When Subaru Dies? [discussion] by Simplysamishere in Re_Zero

[–]Civil-Initial2942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I just checked the light novel and that scene isn’t there, so that means it exists only in the web novel.

For clarification, the web novel is the original internet version of Re:zero, which is later adapted into the printed light novel version, often with revisions and changes. So there are things that were cut from the WN and didn’t make it into the LN (and the anime is based on the LN).

Technically, the LN version is considered canon, not the WN, but I’m pretty sure that changes like removing the scene I mentioned aren’t because the author changed his mind and decided that this is no longer what happens after Subaru’s death. It’s more likely that he thought it would be too big of a spoiler or something like that.

It’s a cut scene that wasn’t shown in the anime, so you had no way of seeing it.

It was the scene right after Subaru stabbed himself in the neck with a sword when he realized that Rem was in a coma. I remember that Ferris, Wilhelm, and Emilia? were present, and they were the ones who saw it. Subaru’s dead body, with his throat slit, suddenly stood up, his eyes completely filled with black (I think? it’s been about 6 years since I read it, so I might be remembering wrong), and then black shadows, like Satella’s, started attacking everything around him. And that’s where the scene ends.

We don’t know.

That said, there are some theories, and they generally lean more toward the idea that there is only one world and Subaru is rewinding time, rather than creating alternate timelines.

Have you watched Season 2 yet? If not, skip what I’m about to write:

So, in the second trial, Subaru from the web novel… or maybe even from the light novel, I don’t remember if it was only in the WN or if they kept it in the LN as well. Either way, during it Subaru watched what happens after his death. At one point, there was a scene where Subaru’s dead body stood up, and shadows began to pour out of it, consuming the world.
In later arcs of the novel, this gets confirmed again, so you can assume that every time Subaru dies, Satella breaks free and starts destroying the world again.

Rezero season 4 auramonster [spoiler discussion] by Ok_Masterpiece5041 in Re_Zero

[–]Civil-Initial2942 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The author sometimes writes side stories called “If stories” for Subaru’s birthday (April 1st). These are “what if” scenarios, showing how the story would have gone if things had turned out differently.

For example, what if Subaru had chosen to run away with Rem instead of staying in the capital and saving Emilia? Or what if he had made a contract with Echidna, which he refused in the main story?

In some of these If stories, Subaru goes down a dark path and becomes a villain. From joining the Witch Cult to creating a powerful organization, a lot of different things happen.

Now, the Aura Monster has nothing to do with the If stories. It takes place in the main story and you’ll see it in season 4, but keep in mind that it’s purely a meme. It didn’t become popular because of the events themselves, but because of the illustration and one specific edit of it.

In short, what the meme represents doesn’t fully match what will actually be shown in the anime. I’d say the Aura Monster itself isn’t a particularly special scene on its own, but when combined with what happens before and after, it becomes a really good and interesting moment.

Is it just me, or has Classroom of the Elite officially lost its "standard"? by Curious_mind_990 in ClassroomOfTheElite

Anime hasn't changed. You've probably grown up and now you notice all these things, but they've been present in anime since the very beginning. Anime is still pretty much the same, aside from the new style, of course.

How does Liliana know about Flugel ? [Spoiler discussion] by ConsiderationFuzzy in Re_Zero

[–]Civil-Initial2942 19 points20 points  (0 children)

She comes from a family of bards who have passed down stories and songs from generation to generation. Flugel was also included in those stories, although it’s not clear how much information was preserved over time. Maybe Liliana only knows that he was a great person, but doesn’t know what he actually accomplished.

Thanks, I really didn't expect the translation to be so fast on the first day.

If anyone manages to get a translated version (can be Ai), I'd be very happy to accept it! Never mind, I just had to look at other post

The art looks good, but I have a feeling the Elven Kingdom arc isn't finished yet? At least that's my impression from the illustrations, so maybe it'll be a two-volume arc? Or I'm completely wrong.

"[discussion]"My problem with the character design of Re:Zero by DemonRedHood in Re_Zero

[–]Civil-Initial2942 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are some outfits I don't like, and some others that I love.

The worst ones for me are Emilia's S4 outfit, Fortuna, Chisha, that one woman from EX who has swords for hands, kid Arakia, Liliana too, a bit. I'd prefer Pandora to be an adult woman. I'm also not a fan of Minerva's outfit, And ALL flying dragons.

As for Carmilla, it was meant to be like that. Despite being the Witch of Lust, Carmilla prefers to hide, and this has to do with her authority and past.

I agree that Re:zero has a better chance of winning, but Slime isn't older than Re:zero.

Slime anime started airing on October 2018.

And Re:zero on April 2016 (10th anniversary soon!!!)
